The problem with much of modern philosophy:
We strive to live a maximally painless life.
But is this truly a noble goal?
Not all pain is created equal. There are good forms of pain, and bad forms of pain.
For example, the good pain after succeeding a new “one rep max” PR in your deadlift. The pain as a stimulus for growth.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

That which attempts to destroy you (but you survive) will make you become stronger.
For example, childhood trauma. This trauma can toughen you; help you develop a stronger and thicker skin and carapace armor.
