Calligraphy (Chinese) to me is like writing meets pictogram art, meets Lamborghini brush strokes.

My technique

First I look for calligraphy I consider beautiful, divine, and sublime, then I simply use Procreate and iPad and sketch it myself:

I don’t care for the characters or meaning

I see the beauty of calligraphy as pictographic. I love the shape, forms, and proportions, as well as the energy and strength, vigor, and dynamism in the brush strokes. The actual meanings don’t interest me much.
