Test your limits as a point of curiosity.

Don’t let fear hold you back. Aren’t you curious what your limits are?

Often we shirk away from testing our limits. Why? Fear of failure, fear of injury, or fear of social stigma. But truth be told, I’ve discovered in my life when I discover what my limit is, I actually feel liberated.

For example the joy of powerlifting. Testing my “one rep max”for my squat. If you cannot get it up, then it’s easy to “bail”by throwing your barbell behind your back, unto the power rack (which will catch your weight). Now I know that when testing my max, there’s really no downside. I can always bail the bar backwards without any injury to myself. And the next time I lift, I simply lower the weight by about 5 pounds and try again.
