In Praise of Photographing Nature

Getting my Ansel Adams on:

Why do we like nature?

My theory:

We love the wild, untamed, and fractal patterns. Also we like the color of green and lush vegetative life.

Monochrome nature

Ricoh GR III and 21mm adapter as ideal for nature and shooting trees. Capturing the epicness of these trees which have probably been around for hundreds or thousands of years, and will continue to be around long after we’re dead.

The best design is from nature

Looking for fractal growth patterns and Fibonacci spirals!

Tons of fascination when looking up close at the veins of leaves (similar to human veins):

A breath of fresh air

Biophilia (the love of the biological). Pacific northwest as ideal for conditions of air and climate. Photographing nature is an excuse to feel refreshed by nature. I don’t think anyone is harmed by seeing some beautiful trees and nature.
