After thinking a long time for a good definition for “virtue”, I think I got a good one:
Human greatness and magnanimity.
Generally we will call it “manliness” (but I want to take the notion further which also applies to women).
Why virtue? Let me explain:
Virtue for the sake of virtue means:
You don’t seek to be virtuous for some external reward. You pursue virtue because your pride demands it.
Determine and dictate your own virtues.
There are no ultimate virtues; only virtues you deem worthy of yourself.
For example my virtues include:
- Determination
- Courage
- Brazenness
- Outspokenness
- Not censoring oneself
- Helping and protecting the weak
- Helping empower those who are underprivileged (like I was, to give new opportunities to young kids who are hungry for it).
Stay hard and true to your virtues. Why? They’re yours!
