What if mental willpower was physical willpower?

A thought while at the gym today:

What if mental power was physical power?

Which means, when we are lacking mental willpower, we are actually lacking physical strength and power.

This means, if you desire more mental willpower, build your physical and physiological strength!

For example:

  1. Sleep 8-12 hours a night
  2. Eat lots of meat and protein
  3. Walk much everyday
  4. At the gym, build leg muscles. Focus on deadlift, squat. Also chin-ups and dumbbell press. Also focus on the powerlifting style “one rep max”(zen of powerlifting).
  5. Expose yourself much to sunlight, the cold, the heat, and other irregularities in weather and humidity.
  6. Elevation: When possible go to the mountains or high elevation. I actually feel more creatively powerful in high mountain regions (Dalat in Vietnam). The higher elevations have less oxygen, thus your body works a bit harder. I think this toughens us.
  7. ”Poison” your body in small doses with caffeine (black tea, black coffee, green tea). Stimulus to our bodily strength. Hormesis is the biological notion.
