Is iPhone the Best Point and Shoot Camera?

A point and shoot camera —

Don’t worry about perfection— the importance of just shooting and capturing moments which resonate with you.

Point and shoot cameras as a more “direct” way of shooting photos — with less conscious effort. Shooting more unconsciously as a superior form of photography.

iPhone with no data

A realization:

You can use and own an iPhone WITHOUT having a data or phone plan.

In this regard, the iPhone almost becomes like a (really) mini iPad, or a digital point and shoot camera with internet connectivity via WiFi.

Furthermore, using the camera phone app which suits your needs is essential. Currently I’m using HUJI CAM, and loving it! As for the iPhone, I inherited an old iPhone 6s Plus from my friend— and am amazed that such an “old” device still works so well!

Aesthetics, not image quality.

With phone cameras (and cameras in general), we are always trying to upgrade our devices because we want better “image quality”.

What if you actually desired WORSE image quality — aka, adding dust, scratches, irregularities, random light leaks, and grit and grain to your photos? Similar to film, or film simulation processing apps like VSCO, or using HUJI CAM on your phone to mimic shooting with a film camera.
