Never Stop Challenging Yourself

A simple way to live life:

Never stop challenging yourself — always strive to become stronger, become deeper, become harder, more profound, with greater challenges and tasks which interest you!

Self-imposed challenges

For myself, it seems life is most fun when we’re working at 90%+ of our personal maximum. For example when I’m powerlifting at the gym, doing deadlifts or any types of lifts are only fun when I’m near my “1 repetition maximum”weight.

Why is this? Because when you’re near your personal maximum, you need to focus. I honestly believe that 99% of powerlifting is mental — to me, powerlifting is my own personal zen-body-mind connection meditation and focusing practice. And when I need to focus — I concentrate my power. I don’t get distracted with superfluous things on my mind. To me, this is pure bliss — no thoughts, no stresses, no pettiness.

A practical question:

Why challenge yourself?

On a practical level, NOT challenging yourself is boring. With games, intellectual pursuits, and anything in life— no challenge is no fun.

For example even with sexual matters — it seems true that the “chase” is more fun than the final destination. Or with financial matters, the quest towards “financial independence” seems to be more rewarding than the actual final state of being “financially independent”.

How strong can I become?

For myself, I have a personal curiosity:

Before I die at age 120, how strong can I become? What is the potential apex or zenith of my strength?

Or the simple thought:

How high can I fly?

Do I want to get to Everest height, or beyond the stratosphere? To the moon, or to Mars and beyond?

What do you live for?

And to me, the curiosity of “how strong can I become?”seems to be one of the best stimulus’s to my life!

A life where my final destination is perfectly mapped doesn’t seem like a life worth living.

Belief in the afterlife holds us back during this lifetime.

I believe in the epicness of human potential. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than a great human being. Humans over everything. Everything we create while alive is for us humans, and our life should be “human-centric”.
