How to Be a More ACTIVE Photographer

ACTIVE: to act, to move, to create.

What is an active photographer?

I feel this term “active” isn’t in our vocabulary as photographers. But I like it.

ACTIVE photographers don’t sit at home, watching Netflix, or reading camera reviews online. An ACTIVE photographer gets out of the house as often as she can, to hunt and prowl the streets for images and pictures.

An ACTIVE photographer likes to walk. An ACTIVE photographer prefers to shoot, than to look at the pictures of others. An ACTIVE photographer considers how she can ACT MORE in her photography and creative life.

ACT by taking pictures, by making slideshows of your pictures and adding audio (I recommend iMovie), by meeting other photographers in real life, by printing your work (as a book via Blurb.com or as 4×6 prints), by sharing and promoting your work online (social media, blogs, your own personal website), or by experimenting by taking new types of pictures.

Why act more?

All ACTION is good for us photographers and artists. We need to make more ACTION to see more results. The more we act, the less fearful we are. the more we act, the more we build our courage.

React less, ACT more. Take control of your creative destiny; the whole world is yours.

BE STRONG,
ERIC
