Don’t Desire Praise

Don’t desire praise,
Rather, warm yourself up with your own sunlight rays

Don’t desire praise,
Sustain yourself with your own braised meat
And stand tall on your own two feet.

Don’t desire praise,
Even when you’re full of self-doubt, and can’t see through the haze.

Don’t desire praise,
Your life is complicated
There is no shortcut through the maze.

Don’t desire praise
Or else you’ll be a slave
To wanting more likes,
More comments,
More followers,
And more yes-men and swallowers

Don’t desire praise,
Light your own path
Set your own life ablaze.

BE STRONG,
ERIC
