• MOVE

A realization waking up this morning; what is my passion? Moving, movement. Anything that motivates me to move, get out, moving across time and space, this is my passion.

    “Move”

Typically when we talk about move, moving… We meant to talk about moving and changing our abode, where we live, what Geo location we live in, city state or country, apartment, etc.

Do you think about it… How much of economic progress can be attributed to movement? Movement of goods products and ideas, people.

For example, let us consider the economy. What is it? It is all about movement! for example, the movement of ideas in Apple, the movement of raw materials to Foxconn mainland Chinese factories, the movement of the employees and builders inside Faulcon, the movement and shipment of iPhones back to the states, the movement of iPhones from the Apple Store to you, whether you pick it up in store, or it gets delivered to you.

Let us consider Amazon; the number one thing that Amazon has conquered is movement. For example, I was born in 1988, and I still remember… My old scoutmaster Pat Ransil was one of the early engineers at Amazon, and I think he might’ve worked on mechanical Turk. so Amazon was around ever since I was in middle school in high school, even before anyone really knew what it was.

If you think about the early days of Jeff Bezos… What did he try to do? Books! Apparently stories of him loading up his old Honda Accord with Books, driving to the local USPS store… Delivering books.

And now with the Internet… What is the Internet? The ultimate friction free delivery of information and knowledge.

Even when you think about Tesla, auto pilot, what is the killer feature? Auto pilot! To be able to move your butt from one spot to another, with less fatigue, exhaustion?

For example I test drove Cindy’s dad’s car a Tesla model Y dual motor, and I test drove and experimented with the basic auto pilot feature, which essentially just maintains the distance between you and the car in front of you, and also automatically slows down when other cars are merging, etc.

when we drove to the Huntington and back, there’s a certain stretch in downtown LA which has insane amounts of traffic. When I activated the basic auto pilot… All I had to do was move the steering wheel left and right, and the automatic accelerating and breaking smart cruise control was actually insanely useful! first and foremost, I didn’t have to do the dance between accelerating and decelerating, and also, it is like the maximum upside of maintaining some control, like controlling the steering wheel, while having the car automatically do the TDS thing of maintaining distance in between the car in front of you and the car back of you.

And this is one thing I realize; the reason why driving is so exhausting, and draining your physiological energy, especially in LA and during times of traffic is all of the billions of calculations we got to make while driving. Being on maximum alert of insane drivers who automatically cut in and out of traffic without turning on their signals, trying to remember when to merge and not to merge, changing lanes, maintaining speed etc.

I have yet tested out the full self driving auto pilot on a Tesla yet, especially on the newer vehicles, which I assume have newer cameras. But let us assume that the auto pilot works perfectly in terms of automatic steering, automatic acceleration, automatic braking, and you could just keep your hands on your lap, and just relax a bit.

    How far?

In regards to moving and movement… How far do you want to go?

Some paradise places I’ve discovered, one being the Stoneview nature center in LA, in the Baldwin Hills. The other day I took him to this solar panel car building workshop, and I swear… The place is like paradise! Having a beautiful and wonderful and warm community center, full of great staff, as well as great hiking paths, being a nature… Even Seneca running around nature, the trees and the grass and the mulch, really brings him to life!

I recently met a theater guy named Abel Horwitz, and he told me something like “we humans are like hairless apes… We need nature community etc.”

I think I have always overlooked the nature part, even though ironically I’m a Boy Scout Eagle Scout. I spent a lot of middle school in high school hiking, being a nature, camping, doing a Boy Scout summer camp etc., but nature never really struck me as something truly critical.

But I think what I love most of my nature, now especially once you got a kid is a nature there are no rules but the rules of physics. You could throw around as many rocks as you would like, you could be however loud you want, you don’t have to obey any BS rules.

For example, we’ve been spending a lot of time going to the public libraries, and the thing I actually discovered that I hate about libraries is there is this unspoken rule that one must be quiet, orderly, compartmentalized. But this is contrary to the nature of children and kids which is to be boisterous, loud, fun and excited!

I have a funny idea for library; what if you could build a library in which everything was opposite; for example, the rule is actually… You are not allowed to be quiet? All reading is in the ancient Greek style, loud, oratory.

It’s bizarre even during reading time, in which the volunteers read to kids out loud, they still do it in kind of a hushed voice?

    What’s the problem here?

Everyone thinks that the issue is technology and social media, but this is incorrect. The issue here is actually society.

Society tell you to shut up, sit down, obey directions, even this really kind of bizarre thing I’ve been seeing a lot of parents do is put their kids in some sort of weird timeout, and then use Siri on their iPhones to set a timer, in which the kid must repent for their Sins for arbitrary period of time. Or even worse, setting an alarm to say when it is time to leave the playground?

Certainly there are certain constraints we gotta follow; if we have a truly critical appointment we have to go to, and we have to leave right now, you gotta take the kid. But this whole thing is such a terrible notion because from such a young age, you are already programming a kid to become a slave to time?

    Movement

Screaming together some thoughts and facts; apparently if you have type two diabetes, which is 100% lifestyle based, which is caused by over consumption of sugar soda Coca-Cola, starches rice beans potatoes, tortillas etc.… It actually starts to your movement and your walking.

And this becomes a negative feedback with; even the elderly once they retire, what is it that they typically do? They degenerate, end up slowly dying in retirement homes, are indoors all day, not allowed to walk, still consuming lots of sugar, starches and sodas, until they eventually lose their ability to walk.

Even when I think of the average human, tech worker, whatever… It is cruel. To force a human being to stay inside a building, for an arbitrary period of time, when the sun is out and nice… So sad! I still recall my first college, the Santa Monica third tree promenade… I’ll be able to finish all my work in about three hours, for some reason in order to say I had to stay there until around 6:30 or 7 PM, to look like a good worker and coworker?

And this is what I find so ridiculous about the whole office worker notion; the only reason they really have an office is because the company once upon a time, signed a lease on an office building, maybe because they raise money from venture capitalist and everyone thinks that it is a good thing to have an office building, and because they are blowing so much money on renting that office building… They feel some sort of financial if they’re employees don’t regularly come into the office.

Also, a form of control; you work from home or you work out of the office, you cannot be monitored. And the fear that the higher up is that if you work from home you’re watching Netflix, doing other non-work related things, thus becoming less productive.

    Or a weird toxic coworker co-employee thing;

“I hate my life, I am suffering so badly, yet you are much happier than me… I desire for you to be stuck in this miserable office and be miserable with me!”

The solution to this problem is very simple; just start your own business, become self-employed, better to live poor and free than rich and enslaved.

  • Freedom of Expression

In America, we got freedom of expression. Freedom of whatever you’re into.

Yeah I suppose the new ones is; at what point, is it tyranny?

For example, certainly got the freedom to express yourself however you want. But, you cannot force me against my own will to address you a certain way.

In America, certainly there is racism, sexism, hate. But when do things cross the line?

First, violence. Physical violence, or even motivating people to physical violence, should be illegal.

Yet, verbal violence… This is where things get very tricky. Then suppose, the issue is freedom of hate, freedom of speech, freedom of racism, sexism, as well as issues of religion?

    Trigger words

It is true that certain words have been Weaponized to cause negative triggers in people. But let us say that you spin up 1 billion fake bots, which are anti-Semitic, anti-whatever, and you unleash them on real human beings on social media whether it be Facebook Instagram Twitter email etc. And these advanced bots, which are powered by generation three artificial intelligence, control you to extreme ends, all the while when you think that it is a real human… And you feel all of these negative human emotions, but you essentially figure out that it was a bot the whole time?

    Bots?

    Bot, robot.

Let us do a thought experiment; let us say that you are photographer on Instagram, and you are very very happy because you have 100,000 followers, and every time you upload a picture, it gets like at least 10,000 times.

But, let us say that one day, I reveal to you that 99,999 of your followers, and 99% of the likes you got were actually from a bot?

Or even worse, let us say that you’re getting cyber bullied email Twitter Instagram Facebook whatever… And the whole time for years, you feel so angry and upset and it ruins your sleep because of all these trolls and haters. But what if I snap my fingers and reveal to you that the whole time, None of them… Literally 0% of them were real human beings, and they were all robots, bots the whole time? How would you feel?

One step further; what then I revealed to you that these bots were not even programmed by a human, but they were programmed by another bot, and that was programmed by another bot, and that was also programmed by another bot. And let us also say that the first that was programmed, wasn’t even from a human, but also from a bot? Scary.

Don’t trust anything which is not face-to-face

It’s funny… I’m probably one of the most hated, most successful photographers on the planet. I can easily say that I’m the first street photography millionaire.

What I have learned in my experience is that all these people who are “haters“; we have actually met them in the flesh, we’re actually very cordial, friendly, knew a lot about me in good ways, and essentially what I discovered was they agreed on me with 99% of my opinions, but it was only one or two things that I did that they disagreed with, which invoked strong emotions?

So I say the intelligent thought and the notion is to never give heed to any toxicity on the Internet. Why? Disable all the comments, disable them in your ad blocker, or just delete them. Why? Once again, what if 99.999% of all comments on the Internet or just bots all along? And what if all these comments you’re reading on Reddit, and these these threads… Also, all bots?

Even when I used to be a Reddit user back in college, I don’t think I ever made a Reddit account, nor did I ever leave comments. I think I only left one comment on Reddit in my life, mostly a humorous one. I think 99.999% of real human beings are just lurkers.

Then it makes me think, if you have enough motivation to actually leave a comment, certainly you must be very very personally invested in the thing to actually overcome the function of leaving a comment.

    Comments are dead.

A photo publishing platform that will host and share your photos for free forever… without advertising?

This is my big idea; very very simple. Essentially the only places that you could post your pictures on the Internet, all are free, but also all are supported by advertising.

There are two companies like smug mug which exist which actually have a sustainable business model, be charged real money for you to host your website and your photos! It seems like a good model because they were to buy out Flickr.

I think the main issue here is that the reason why Flicker was sold and result so many times was nobody could figure out how to monetize it effectively. Even now when you go to Flicker, it is like 90% advertisements?

What we need is a carte blanche, blank slate approach tipping; if you created a photo sharing or photo publishing website in the year 2024, essentially it should be powered by bitcoin, the bitcoin wallet, Satoshis.

Why? First you need some sort of treasury fund, store value that could allow the platform to live into perpetuity. Example even with arsbeta.com — the hosting is just been paid from you from my personal bank account, and essentially I’m just doing the pro bono thing of keeping the platform alive with my own wallet. But when I die, who will pay the hosting?

    .

    Can it last 300 years?

Nietzsche came out with some ideas:

first, how do you know whether someone has any worthwhile ideas or not? Simple; if there are thoughts can last at least 300 years.

Also the sign of a good guitar for; if your photos can still last and impart meaning 300 years from now… They are good.

This is still why time is the best test of things; and why it is good to study the past. For example, the photos of Henri Cartier Bresson as well as Robert Capa. If a photographer has been around for a long time, typically it is sign and signal that their photos are good. This is why when it comes to photos, photography and art, durability is key. And durability just means being around for a long time.
It is highly dubious that any digital camera will last for 30 years. It seems that the only thing which will last 30 years, maybe even 100 years is some sort of film Leica M camera– I am highly certain that my film Leica MP and 35mm f2 Leica summicron ASPH Lens will still be functional by the time Seneca is 36 years old, and also will still be functional by the time he has the son, and his son is 36 years old.

Film is interesting because as time goes on, it will keep getting more and more expensive, but, I think you will still be able to somehow process it. And also I think a big innovation could be had in terms of making film development and processing very very easy at home, like some sort of cheap machine or easy scanner.

The idea, is like some sort of digital film 36 mm Cartridge, in which you could just swap in and out a digital sensor for your film camera. Or, it could just use traditional 36 mm film, except you could just invent a machine in which you could just throw in the film cartridges, and the machine will automatically process them, and scan them for you!

    Photo projects?

what is a project, or a photography project?

Essentially, I think of it like a book; what is a book? A book is just an enclosed collection of certain writing and ideas. A book could be however long or short as you wanted to be; for example le petite prince, only 36 pages or so?

And also, I book doesn’t have to be print-based. It could be digital, an e-book, a PDF file, even a really long blog post. Now with the digital transformation, we are beyond a world of analogue.

    Arguments against analogue

For example, there is this huge bias that analog, it must be analogue.

But the most critical issue here, let us think and consider that money is no longer analogue. If money were truly analogue, in the physical realm, instead of caring around pieces of reinforced paper in our wallets, we would have tiny gold coins or something.

  • CLASSIC.

What should every artist creator desire?

    To create a classic.

What is classic mean? It means the best.

For example an ancient room, class of people who are the best, the richest most powerful the most influential were called “classicus”. And as time goes on, the best intermingle with the other best, and us, the new generation of power emerges.

  • Preferences

Something I would never think of my life; lately I’m kind of into trucks. I like how big and dominant they are, and how massive and chunky they are.

Certainly I don’t actually want to desire to own one, it is impossible for to park in my small parking lot apartment.

Also, I currently think that the best vehicle of all time is definitely the cyber truck; just follow the kids. All the kids love it!

Also, thinking about when I was a kid, my dream car is a kid was an Acura Integra type R, red with the white rims. Then when I got into high school, my dream car was a 1991 Sentra SE-R, two door coupe, SR20DE engine, 5 speed manual transmission. And my grand dream vision for modifying it was turbocharging it, SR20DE-T, having it in red, with gold or bronze rims, lowered, with a carbon fiber hood and a carbon fiber trunk. And maybe some red recaro racing seats.

Also somewhere along the line, I had a dream in a vision to drive a red convertible, top down through the desert, and in college I ended up buying a 1990 Mazda Miata, red, 5 speed manual transmission, convertible, two-door, two seater, and had that for a while.

Later, the desire for some sort of Lamborghini, Matt Black, murdered out, black on Black on black, with the scissor doors?

Now at the age of 36… I’m finding that my preferences are constantly changing.

So then, the logical strategy is to never buy any vehicle, because probably within a few years, whether it be one year, two years three years, four years five years, 10 years 20 years 30 years, your preferences will change!

What fools then do is the trade in their old vehicle for a new one, losing about 80% of the value along the way. And this is why people are so broke.

    Bitcoin is the way?

Bitcoin is the hardest working asset, on the planet. While you are sleeping merrily, it is growing, dislike a cybernetic life form, self programming, its own artificial intelligence. And even without me doing anything, there are thousands of bitcoin proponents, spreading the word of bitcoin “orange pilling“ people.

And without me doing anything… The value of my bitcoin assets keep going up. And very very easily, I could predict that within the next 30 years, the value of it will explode. And also, I definitely see that the ERIC KIM send you in bitcoin family fund what continue to exist even 300 years from now.

In fact, if I had a will, or instructions to Seneca if I somehow died too quickly, or simple instructions for the whole family and the whole future generations is simple:

The only 1 rule: Don’t sell the Bitcoin!

You can mortgage your home against it, you could borrow money against it, using the bitcoin as collateral, very much how like rich families in New York City do it with their property on fifth Avenue or whatever.

No intelligent or rich or wealthy family power whatever sell their property in the middle of Manhattan, or even the middle of Tokyo. Or the middle of Gangnam in South Korea. And the goal is you keep that property in your family forever, you passed it down to your kids kids kids. This is what they call generational wealth.

As a first generation person in America, meaning that I was born in the states, but my parents immigrating from South Korea, I started off with zero. Often when I talk to friends tend to be the typical successful Caucasian American, there is some sort of family wealth in America. For example, learning that one of my friends, their grandparents owned a home in Beverly Hills, certainly a leg up, compared to myself being raised by a single mother, working 80 hours a week as a waitress at a sushi restaurant.

    Money is unlimited optionality

I suppose that genius of money as a concept is that money is infinite option reality. What that means is technically, having money, perfect money which doesn’t lose its value due to inflation, aka Bitcoin over traditional fiat currency is best because knowing that our preferences are so fickle; being able to immediately liquidate and use your economic power is wise.

The reason why owning a home or property is quite foolish is because it is not liquid. For example, you cannot just snap your fingers on Saturday and magically sell your house and have $2 million deposited into your bank account. I also think this is where homeownership is a bit convoluted; let us say that you troll Zillow and you see that your family home is worth $3.2 million. If you actually want to sell it, it might take you a year or two or even three years… Tons of closing costs, fees and headaches, legal paperwork etc., and then you have to also find out where to live after that. so the irony about living in Los Angeles and having a house that is worth a lot is that technically, you live there forever, because you’re not rich enough to move anywhere else. So you can’t really do anything with the home value of your house, except pay taxes, property taxes into perpetuity, which will essentially suck your blood dry after 30 years.

So what should one do with money?

The religion and the cult of capital, capitalism is to keep growing that into perpetuity forever.

For example, I think it is human nature that enough is never enough. We always want more.

For example, you start off with $100 in your savings account, then 500, then 1000, then 10,000, then 100,000, then 1 million, then 10 million, then 100 million, then 1 billion, then 10 billion etc.

Even numbers which become insane; what is Apple worth? A few trillion dollars?

I would not be surprised if in our lifetime we see Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk become the first trillionaire on the planet.

    Real needs?

This is where being a stoic capitalist is a wise idea; to essentially live like a poor person, or stoic, or a spartan, and you just keep stacking your capital, forever. And the critical ingredient here is that you must have children, you must have errors. Doesn’t matter if a boy or a girl, You at least want one kid, ideally two kids or more.

Why? Just do the odds; nowadays most people aren’t interested in having any kids — so if you have 1 kid, maybe a high likelihood they won’t want to have any kids as well.

    Need vs want?

I also think it is wise for us to critically untangled the difference between need versus want.

We need we must eat, we need must rent, but beyond this… Everything this is just a want?

How to deal with the high price of living:

    Some quick thoughts:

First, it seems that everyone loves to complain about the high cost-of-living. When they talk about this… What do they really mean to say?

First, there are certain nonnegotiables you must do, like feed yourself. No matter how rich intelligent or wise you are, if you don’t feed yourself yourself you will die.

However the nuance; playing defense, and also realizing that a lot of things are negotiable.

    Your options

For example, you must eat, but it is not an imperative that you must eat out at a restaurant or order takeout.

Or another thing — it is illegal to be naked out in public, but the funny nuance is as a man, legally you are not forced to wear a shirt in public, that is technically optional. You only gotta put on a shirt when you go inside a private business or restaurant or establishment. But if you are out in public, then, shirts are optional.

Big deal, because the funny thing about clothing is that it could be essentially free, people seem to like to give away free clothes, or it could be insanely expensive, in fashion and fashion it is not uncommon to purchase a $300 white T-shirt.

    2010 Prius is the way

Second, your vehicle. If you live in LA, I suppose you don’t really need a car; actually, you could probably get by by just using Uber, walking, public transportation, the bus, the metro. However it is true that if you want to improve the quality of your life, having a car is superior, because you could do stuff like go hiking, go to nature, drive to other public libraries, science centers etc.

However the nuance with cars is that once again, it could be however cheap or expensive you want it to be.

For example, if you live in LA, by far the most intelligent option is to own a Prius, a hybrid vehicle, etc. Why?

The funny realization; the other day I just went to Arco and filled up my 2010 Prius from zero to the max, maybe it only cost me $38. And I looked at my odometer thing, and it said that a full tank I guess would be 410 miles of range! This struck me as very funny, as that is technically 10 miles more range even than the Tesla model S!
So wait … let us do the math:

I inherited the 2010 Prius from Cindy‘s family for free, put $2800 to purchase a new catalytic converter, $2000 for a new automatic braking system … essentially a “brand new” car for only $4800! And what is insanely great is that the Prius was purchased brand new by Cindy‘s older sister in 2010, maybe when it comes around $30,000 or something, and so because it kept itself in the family, we know that it was not used and abused, and the maintenance was super spot on, always maintained properly, never used and abused. Also, we actually had the Prius for about two years when Cindy and I lived in Berkeley, I think we actually ended up finishing off the finance payments on it as well.

Not only that, but due to a recall, Cindy‘s younger sister actually got the whole Prius repainted with brand new blizzard pearl, sparkly tri tone white paint! Cindy recently got a quick detailing Maguire spray from the Facebook buy nothing group, and after putting it on, the paint on it is insanely beautiful, especially when the bright sun is out!

I think this is where I still like beautiful paint on a car, rather than the current modern trendy approach with matte black, matte black vinyl 3M wraps, or even these boring concrete gray colored cars; really beautiful paint on a car after you wax it is insanely beautiful!

    For example my neighbor has a brand new Porsche 718 cayman in the concrete grey color, which I find very boring as a color. In direct light, the blizzard pearl on the Prius looks 1 million times more beautiful! Why? When you look closely… You could see the tiny speckles of purple pink and blue inside the white blizzard pearl;

    Beautiful paint jobs

Also, when I am on the road, I think actually the most beautiful paint I have seen on cars is probably on Lexus vehicles, for example Lexus has this really beautiful silver atomic color that they put on some of their vehicles, and even the brand new Lexus RX in silver looks insanely beautiful! Similarly speaking, the darker silver color looks great on the IS 250 cars.

Even though I love Tesla and Elon Musk to death, in terms of supreme and the most high quality, Lexus is the way. For example, what is the most important part of a car, in terms of the design? I say it is the back of the car, which you always look at, as well as the driver side door, whenever you enter and exit your vehicle.

For example, on the Lexus LS cars, the detailing the side mirror trim, the door side trim, the door handles on the Lexus LS series is so well crafted, and beautiful. Even though I love the Tesla cars, honestly if you look really really carefully at Tesla cars, look closely, The trim actually looks very very cheap. And feels cheap.

Even on the Tesla model Y, something I was so shocked about when test driving Cindy’s dad’s Tesla model Y, was the rear passenger door window thing; it is literally wiggling so hard that it looks like it will fall off!

    I then suppose there is a contradiction of quality here;

There are certain things which we think is very very high-quality in terms of branding, our minds, etc.… Then there tends to be a little bit more objective reality at play, which you cannot really understand until you have seen and touched it yourself in real life.

    Expenses?

    So back to the whole issue of the cost-of-living;

First, delete all subscriptions. Unsubscribe from everything.

Delete and unsubscribe from all of your music and TV and show and film streaming services, and also depending on your situation… Cancel your gym membership. I think the gym membership is good if you go there every single day, it is not too trafficky to get there, and you can get in and out quick, and also you don’t have to wait for equipment. Otherwise, it seems wise to start investing in building your own home gym; why? Time. I have probably recovered at least 2 to 3 hours a day by not going to my local gym, as I could skip all of the lines by simply working out on myself, in my ghetto backyard, parking lot gym.

Also a funny thing that I have discovered is that ever since I have been working out at home, I think I have become a little bit more honest. What does that mean? Now that I no longer have anybody to impress, literally for myself, nobody else. So all the exercises I do is truly for myself.

    Suckered by “quality”?

Also a very big issue here; I think we often think about this abstract notion of “quality”, but what does that really mean?

First, it seems that the most objective measure here is durability. What does durability mean? That’s something will last a long time!

Typically durability has to deal with hardness, but I think hardness is simply means of something to last a long time.

For example, durability, duration; all the same thing.

I haven’t come up with a good definition of “quality” yet, but it seems that this notion of quality needs to be re-examined.

    Amazon, Amazon prime, Amazon fresh?

How long until you could purchase a home on Amazon prime? Or purchase a car through Amazon prime?

A recent discovery that Cindy and I found is Amazon fresh. Interestingly enough, I think it is actually cheaper and more convenient and time saving than Costco!

I’ll get example; for some reason whenever we go to Costco, it is easy that we drop 500 or $600 on a bunch of random stuff. But Amazon, Amazon fresh is much more targeted, almost like a precision laser strike; you only select items you want from the Amazon app, and then you pick it up, either curbside, or you just go in store and just ask the friendly people there that you’re picking up. Or, you could subscribe to the Amazon fresh thing, which is only $10 a month, and you could just have it delivered straight to your door!

Jeff Bezos said something interesting, which was essentially “We want to make it so that by not having Amazon prime, you are doing something financially irresponsible”.

Also with clothing, my younger sister Annette Kim has recently been buying all of her clothes on Amazon, and I am shocked; it all looks great, and it is like 10% the price of buying stuff at a traditional retailer or a Lululemon etc.

I think what is so interesting about Amazon Amazon prime is that effectively, the goods are all produced by some anonymous factory somewhere in mainland China, and you cut out the middleman which is the publicly listed corporation which is inflating prices to make a profit, let us not forget that Lululemon is a publicly traded corporation, as a result… Cutting out the middleman seems like a good idea.

Certainly Lululemon does a lot of investing in innovating and creating new types of fabrics, which is probably in fact superior to that which you buy on Amazon, but, I suppose the question is if you are purchasing the products just for fashion, then just buying it on Amazon directly makes more sense.

Or I’ll give you another example, a month ago we got invited to a wedding and I realize that I have forgotten where I put my nice dress shoes. So I just went on Amazon, and I ordered these all black, “L run” minimalist zero drop shoes, which only cost me maybe $28! And boom delivered to my door in a day, instead of having to sift through all of these tedious dress shoe brands, which can easily cost you about $200.

When in doubt, first order it on Amazon prime.

Even with Seneca and his shoes, Cindy just orders the “L Run” kids water shoes ,,, the minimalist essentially slippers for kids… each is only like $10! And when he outgrows it, or gets a hole in it, you could just throw it in the trash.

    Cut out the middleman

Has there been a good film on Stoicism yet?

I think the best we got so far is John Wick; John Wick is probably the uber-stoic.

And then we have the movie 300, also, insanely great.

My ideal film or concept would be if John Wick and 300 had a baby; essentially my only critique about John Wick and Keanu Reeves is that he is too muscularly wimpy; why doesn’t John Wick have a six pack and is insanely buff like king Leonidas and Gerald Butler in the movie 300? Or at least look like something like ERIC KIM?

    Very very simple ways that Hollywood producers and directors you could beef up your actors, without shooting their butt holes full of steroids;

    1. 100% carnivore diet — feed them nothing but the finest bone marrow, beef liver, ribeye steak, beef ribs
    2. Have them quit all sugars starches, fruits vegetables, etc. The only non-meat item to eat is arugula or kale or dark leafy bitter greens
    3. Have them fast; no breakfast no lunch, only a 4 pound carnivore dinner. This will also be good because it could be productive throughout the whole day, they don’t need breakfast or a lunch break.
    4. Extremely heavy one repetition maximum style lifting — “If the bar ain’t bendin, you pretending” – Hugh Jackman, Wolverine

In fact, how much productivity is lost because people have to buy a mediocre $25 salad and sandwich, and waste an hour or 45 minutes or 20 minutes eating lunch? For them to maybe instead, just going on a walk around the block, get a quick pump lift some weights, drink some water, or maybe even take a nap instead.

    Think 30 years ahead

    Far seeing:

A big thought I currently have is the notion of trying to think at least 30 years ahead.

    Why?

First, if you think 30 years ahead, you gain a lot of clarity to and behind things.

I suppose one of the greatest blessings of having Seneca, having a kid is now finally… I have a reason, or have an impetus or approach to think long-term ahead.

For example, trying to think about my strength physique and health 30 years from now, as well as the health of Cindy, my mom, Seneca, the whole family empire.

A very very simple idea is keep stacking those bitcoins. I have about 100% certainty that 30 years from now, bitcoin will be a raging win.

I think the hard thing with a lot of people is that they cannot stomach the volatility. However, what I find so fascinating about bitcoin is that it is insanely volatile, but actually not very risky. In fact, I believe bit bitcoin to be the only crypto asset Which actually has zero risk. After bitcoin, all of the other crypto‘s have huge risk and downsides; for example I think Ethereum is a lame duck, the only other crypto worth mentioning is chainlink, but the biggest issue here is that they are to heavily on marketing and PR, which is always a bad sign. Even getting Sergey Nazarov the founder to wear a suit and tie, bad idea. Just let him walk around in his classic blue flannel!

Building something which will last 30 years from now?

There are certain things that you built today which will exist 30 years from now, in certain things… Will no longer be around 30 years from now.

For example, very unlikely that your neighbor will live live in the same apartment building for the next 30 years.

Also, very unlikely that Instagram or TikTok will be around 30 years from now. I think Facebook will still be around 30 years from now, as it is essentially the core product for Facebook and the medical corporation, but beyond that, maybe no.

Apple will still be around 30 years from now, people will still be using iPhones.

Google will still be around 30 years from now.

Amazon will most definitely be around 30 years from now. Same goes with Microsoft.

Websites and blogs will still be around, with the classic HTTPS: and www. and .com domains. I think most apps won’t be around 30 years from now.

Apps will come and go, websites will stay.

Building your own empire for the next 30 years

Nothing that you buy today, will probably have any utility 30 years from now.

For example, there is no car vehicle thing or truck that will still be trendy or sought after 30 years from now, without dealing with extreme maintenance costs.

Also, I am still not 100% certain about investing in property or real estate; the maintenance cost are too high, as well as vacancy rates, having to rent and manage your property, maintain and paint and fix things, hire staff, pay for taxes and property taxes etc.

Even right right now, currently I am living in LA, but will I be in LA 30 years from now? Probably not.

So what is ultimately portable you could always take your wealth with you? Bitcoin!

Also let us think about the US dollar and inflation; what will be the price of 30 years from now? A lot. Let us assume that you have $100, and you save it in a safe somewhere, what will be its purchasing power 30 years from now? Maybe 30 years from now, $100 will buy you a burger and a soda?

What does it mean to be a stoic investor?

I think thinking 30 years ahead is the great filter.

For example, all these degenerate millennials, hedonists, and their dogs will all die off, the only people left standing and thriving will be people with kids and families.

First, have kids. At least one, ideally two, also, desirable to have at least one male heir if you are a man.

Second, just think to yourself when it comes to financial economic or just like decisions… “What would king Leonidas do, say, or think?”

For example, if I had a King Leonidas ChatGPT bot, just ask him, in regards to any purchasing decisions… should I do it, should I not do it? You already know what he will say!

–> “King Leonidas… Should I buy that Tesla, that cybertruck, that Tesla model 3 performance, the Tesla model S plaid, the Porsche, the Porsche 911, the Porsche 911 GT 3 RS?”

    King Leonidas would say:

“Only women drive vehicles”– a true man would only engage in hand-to-hand combat, no chariots, no horses, no vehicles.

Actually this is really really fascinating, if you think about it, go back to the Iliad, Achilles versus Hector. Essentially when it comes down to it, Achilles is just chasing around Hector, ready to kill him, no chariot.

And also, if you think about the Iliad, and also the Spartan 300s; they don’t even use horses!

    Subtraction?

Typically the entire economy thrives on addition. For example you positively add, produce things goods product services etc.… And people positively purchase, and add it to their homes their wardrobes etc.

For example, let us consider and think about the closet of the average American or individual; just count it out… How many shirts, pants, socks, jackets, shoes do you own?

And also… What other random stuff have you screenshot it on your phone that you might like to buy in the near future?

Or let us stay with cars and vehicles… If you became a billionaire, cars would you like to purchase and add to your garage?

Or if you are a homeowner, what new appliances would you like to purchase or upgrade in your home, or how would you like to renovate your home?

This issue here is it is all additive; we always try to add something, rather than thinking about subtraction.

    Why isn’t subtraction in vogue?

The issue is that first, I think people lack the experience the wisdom or the critical thinking in regards to subtraction.

Also, my personal theory is whenever you purchase something, there is a small power rush. When you purchase something or add something to your store house, it makes you feel more powerful.

For example, why is it that king Priam had 1000 oxen, and wanted 10,000 more, even though he could never eat or consume all of that oxen? Because with wealth and power … Typically speaking… More is better.

Put in today’s world, more is worse. The more stuff you buy, the more stuff you have to maintain manage, organize etc.

For example, even if you have more than one vehicle, you have to think about maintaining more than one vehicle, a massive pain in the ass.

For example, I often see my brother-in-law he has a Toyota 4 runner and Toyota sienna hybrid, and I often see him have to charge the battery of his 4 runner, because having to maintain two vehicles is a lot of work.

Also, clothes; the more clothes you purchase, the more you have to manage it. For example I do have certain articles of clothing which I prefer, but I always have to rummage through my random shelf randomly scattered clothing in order to find it.

Or let us say that you own a lot of electronics, or phones or laptops or iPads devices whatever; more crap you have to charge and maintain.

Even properties; imagine that you have property in the south of France, and also a French bank account; and you get locked out of your French bank account, and you have to pay taxes on your property. A big pain in the ass.

True wealth is subtracting duties, obligations, work

Negotium means “neg+otium”– negative leisure or otium.

The ancient Romans and Latin were wise; they knew that any sort of business was bad. They knew that it were required more maintenance, more work, and it was seen as a bad thing to do business, even the word for business is “negotium” which literally means “negative otium”– anytime spent away from you being able to enjoy your leisure.

The problem is in today’s world and cult of capitalism, work in productivity, we have essentially defied this slave-like notion of work productivity, hard work is a virtue, being busy as a virtue etc.

The ancient Spartans had the helots (peasant slaves) do the dirty work of tilling the lands, maintaining stuff, etc. Apparently they would even use the helots for target practice.

That, the wise thing to do is to unlearn or to disconnect yourself from this slave-like mentality of work, busyness, duty, responsiveness, responsibility, following up and following through etc.

The only true freeman is only somebody who does not have email installed on their phone. Better yet doesn’t even own a phone. As long as you have to attend to email, you are not free.

If anything, the killer app would just be a ChatGPT email but which automatically answered all your emails for you! Which knew your preferences, etc. And would just do all the work for you!

Even as a risky experiment, would you trust ChatGPT and your inbox? Maybe.

    Big ideas for Apple

Maybe even the next step for Apple intelligence is for Siri or your phone or whatever to automatically respond to your text messages or your iMessages or your emails. This would be the real killer feature.

I think the average worker be maybe spends four hours a day just attending to email. If AI could just do that all for you, and you could save yourself four hours of stress and mental cognitive load day, isn’t this ideal?

    Subtraction

What is the best way to “upgrade” your home? Not by buying new furniture or whatever… Very simple, just get rid of stuff! Throw old furniture in the trash or put it on the curb or give it away, and subtract dust grime; Vacuum the floors wipe the floors, clean the bathroom and the toilet and the bathtub etc.

Also, a simple thought about clothes; the best clothing is subtractive.

Instead of buying a new outfit, just take the clothes that you already have, and just cut it with scissors! Cut off the sleeves of your T-shirts and make it into a tanktop, or even take your shirts and cut it into a crop top.

Apparently it is even popular for jean shorts now — just take an old pair of jeans and cut off the legs!

Do people not know that you could just take scissors and cut up your own clothes?

    Cameras

Also in the realm of cameras, the best upgrade you could do is actually to reduce file sizes; just shoot JPEG, small or extra small JPEG, and in terms of your lens, the most supreme light compact cheap and pancake lens possible.

    Weight is a nonnegotiable.

The only real upgrade is reducing size weight

For example, if you want to upgrade your camera, or your camera set up or whatever… The only really empirical thing that you could do is subtract the weight, subtract the size, also subtract the overall footprint of it.

For example, even your automobile car, technically the real upgrade especially when living in Los Angeles or a city is to actually spend money to reduce the size of it?

For example, let us say that you have a Tesla model S plaid, or cybertruck or a Tesla model X, the real upgrade here is to reduce the size of it, in order for it to be a smaller to fit in more parking spots.

If this is the case, then the Tesla model 3 is the perfect car for LA.

If you want to stick to hybrid for maximum convenience, Prius is the way.

    Stoic training

If you want to become more stoic, first you must train your body, the mind will follow.

For example, assuming that you’re sleeping insanely good, 10 hours a night, and you could lift 1000 pounds… Certainly there will be nothing which will be able to stir you.

Or, when I’m walking around town and my 60 pound weight vest, I feel like a beast, a boss, kind of like one of those Pacific Rim robots, armored core, a Titan, Titanic, a giant mech robot, a gundam on steroids?

In terms of overall physique, and strength and power and mass… I am more Ronnie Coleman than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Granted that Ronnie Coleman juiced out his eyeballs and essentially is now permanently crippled. Not worth it.

    > Lift heavy, eat a shitload of meat, sleep like a god

This is my simple formula; first the sleep aspect. I’ve been experimenting a little bit with my sleep set up, now it is summer. The last two nights I slept insanely poorly, which made me feel absolutely horrible for about two days. But finally last night, I slept with the air conditioner on a little bit cooler, I slept like a god.

Without 8 to 10 hours of sleep, you cannot do anything godlike.

In fact, the only three things I care for Seneca is also, that he sleeps 12 hours a night, finishes a whole Angus beef burger patty, and that he has maximum physical activity and exercise and climbing outside. All this stuff on education and learning or whatever… That will come naturally.

    You are the special!

Recently from the LA public library in Chinatown… Seneca found the Lego Batman movie, and also the Lego movie, and we watched a little bit of a together, and I think those two films might be on my new list of must watch films.

Why? A little bit of parody and humor and turning things into Legos… Makes you think a lot more big picture.

For example, the Lego movie fun at the matrix, Neo, “the one”– or “the special”. Also, it does a very very good job of critiquing mainstream culture, capitalism, corporations, even better than how fight club did it.

    The humorous stoic

Typically when we think about stoicism, we think about dark morose EMO people. But my notion of stoicism is actually much more lighthearted, happy and fun. A stoic with a grand sense of humor, and a belly-full laughter! Dionysian joy.

    Takeaway points

    1. Think 30 years ahead as a filter
    2. Poor is sexy — go for a reverse flex; the richer you become, live a more “poor” lifestyle.
    3. Just first buy it on Amazon prime
    4. Try out Amazon Fresh for groceries
    5. The most gangsta car has the maximum MPG’s!
    6. Save money and keep stacking those bitcoins

How to deal with the high price of living

    Some quick thoughts:

First, it seems that everyone loves to complain about the high cost-of-living. When they talk about this… What did they really mean to say?

First, there are certain nonnegotiable you must do, like feed yourself. No matter how rich intelligent or wise you are, if you don’t feed yourself yourself you will die.

However the nuance; playing defense, and also realizing that a lot of things are negotiable.

For example, you must eat, but it is not an imperative that you must eat out at a restaurant or order takeout.

Or another thing — search and Lee it is illegal to be naked out in public, but the funny nuance is as a man, legally you are not forced to wear a shirt in public, that is technically optional. You only gotta put on his shirt when you go inside a private business or restaurant or establishment. But if you are out in public, then, shirts are optional.

Big deal, because the funny thing about clothing is that it could be essentially free, people seem to like to give away free clothes, or it could be insanely expensive, in fashion and fashion it is not uncommon to purchase a $300 white T-shirt.

I think this is where I still like beautiful paint on a car, rather than the current modern trendy approach with Matt Black, Matt Black vinyl 3M wraps, or even these boring concrete gray colored cars; really beautiful paint on a car after you wax it is insanely beautiful!

    For example my neighbor has a brand new Porsche 718 cayman in the concrete grey color, which I find very boring as a color, and indirect light, the blizzard pearl on the Prius looks 1 million times more beautiful! Why? When you look closely… You could see the tiny speckles of purple pink and blue inside the white blizzard pearl;

Also, when you were on the road, I think actually the most beautiful paint I have seen on cars is probably on Lexus vehicles, for example Lexus has this really beautiful silver atomic color that they put on some of their vehicles, and even the brand new Lexus RX in silver looks insanely beautiful!

    I then suppose there is a contradiction of quality here;

There are certain things which we think is very very high-quality in terms of branding, our minds, etc.… Then there tends to be a little bit more objective reality at play, which you cannot really understand until you have seen and touched it yourself in real life.

    Expenses?

    So back to the whole issue of the cost-of-living;

First, delete all subscriptions. Unsubscribe from everything.

Delete and unsubscribe from all of your music and TV and show and film streaming services, and also depending on your situation… Cancel your gym membership. I think the gym membership is good if you go there every single day, it is not too traffic to get there, and you can get in and out quick, and also you don’t have to wait for equipment.

    Very very simple ways that Hollywood producers and directors you could beef up your actors, without shooting their butt holes full of steroids;

    1. 100% carnivore diet — feed them nothing but the finest bone marrow, beef liver, ribeye steak, beef ribs

For example, trying to think about my strength figure and health 30 years from now, as well as the health of Cindy, my mom, Seneca, the whole family Empire.

A very very simple idea is keep stacking those bitcoins. I have about 100% certainty that 30 years from now, bitcoin will be a raging win.

I think the hard thing with a lot of people is that they cannot stomach the volatility. However, what I find so fascinated about bitcoin is that it is insanely volatile, but actually not very risky. In fact, I believe bit bitcoin to be the only crypto acid Which actually has zero risk. After a bitcoin, all of the other crypto‘s have huge risk and downsides; for example I think Ethereum is a lame duck, the only other crypto worth mentioning is chain-link, but the biggest issue here is that they are to heavily on marketing NPR, which is always a bad sign.

Building your own empire for the next 30 years

No thing that you buy today, will probably have any utility 30 years from now.

For example, there is no car vehicle thing or truck that will still be trendy or sought after 30 years from now, without dealing with extreme maintenance costs.

Also, I am still not 100% certain about investing in property or real estate; the maintenance cost are too high, as well as vacancy rates, having to rent and manage your property, maintain and painted and fix things, hire staff, pay for taxes and property taxes etc.

For example, all these degenerate millennials, hedonist, and their dogs will all die off, the only people left standing and thriving will be people with kids and families.

–> “King Leonidas… Should I buy that Tesla, that cyber truck, that Tesla model 3 performance, the Tesla model S plaid, the Porsche, the Porsche 911, the Porsche 911 GT 3 RS?”

The issue is that first, I think people lack the experience the wisdom or the critical thinking in regards to subtraction.

also, my personal theory is whenever you purchase something, there is a small power rush. When you purchase some thing or add something to your store house, it makes you feel more powerful.

The problem is in today’s world and cult of capitalism, work in productivity, we have essentially defied this slave like notion of work productivity, hard work is a virtue, being busy as a virtue etc.

The ancient Spartans had the helots (peasant slaves) do the dirty work of tilling the lands, maintaining stuff, etc. apparently they would even use the helots for target practice.

That, the wise thing to do is to unlearn or to disconnect yourself from this slave like mentality of work, busyness, duty, responsiveness, responsibility, following up and following through etc.

Maybe.

Maybe even the next step for Apple intelligence is for Siri or your phone or whatever to automatically respond to your text messages or your iMessages or your emails. This would be the real killer feature.

I think the average worker be maybe spends four hours a day just attending to email. If I could just do that all for you, and you could save yourself four hours of stress and mental cognitive load day, isn’t this ideal?

    Subtraction

What is the best way to “upgrade” your home? Not by buying your furniture or whatever… Very simple, just get rid of stuff!

Cut off the sleeves of your T-shirts and make it into a tank top, or even take your shirts and cut it into a crop top.

For example, let us say that you have a Tesla model as plaid, or cyber truck or a Tesla model X, the real upgrade here is to reduce the size of it, in order for it to be a smaller to fit in more parking spots.

  • The genius of Amazon, Amazon prime and Amazon fresh delivery

So recently we’ve been going to an Amazon fresh grocery store, about a 15 minute drive away, which I guess is around 30 minutes round trip.

    However still some issues—

    1. Even if you do curbside pick up, which is generally quite convenient, you still gotta drive there, and you still got to tap a bunch of things on your phone, click a bunch of stuff, be distracted, and then wait for the person to come to your car, which sometimes is very fast, but sometimes… I had to wait almost 30 minutes?
    2. Then the logic is paying for Amazon prime food grocery delivery totally makes sense! I think it only cost an additional $10 a month, insanely good deal—.
    3. To save 15 minutes there, 15 minutes back, to save 30 minutes in a day… is a good idea. Especially when you’re driving in LA the issue is that 30 minutes is still quite mentally and physiologically attacking; a lot of crazy drivers on the road, having to merge in and out of La Cienega is a nightmare.
    4. Therefore I think one of the prime things to consider is not just the whole saving time thing, but saving physiological energy, mind space, driving in LA is exhausting. This issue with driving is all the physiological mental energy to switch lanes, always be on high alert for crazy drivers, etc.
    5. Then once again, the moral of the story is minimum driving possible!

  • In California, is somebody allowed to speed up and overtake you if you are driving speed limit?

In California, it is illegal to exceed the speed limit, regardless of the reason. This means that even if you are driving at the speed limit, another driver is not allowed to legally speed up and overtake you by exceeding the speed limit. However, if you are driving below the speed limit and are in the left lane, slower traffic is generally expected to keep to the right to allow faster traffic to pass.

  • First, do no harm unto others

    ”Please don’t smoke here”

The problem with smoking, in public or on the street or whatever… you are doing positive harm onto others or downwind from you. Or in the vicinity.

I think what a lot of smokers don’t understand is when they seem like they’re not bothering anyone else, they are.

So I suppose even from an ethics perspective or a legality perspective etc.… things that one does that harms others… should not be permitted in public (aka, outside of your home)?

    Smoking, even potentially gun ownership?

I also suppose the issue with con ownership, even having a licensed for concealed carry is this issue that there’s a possibility you might do harm to me if you’re angry!

Also here is where pollution is an issue; if for some reason you have a car maybe without a caralytic converter which causes a lot of toxic pollution in the air… They should be illegal.

Idea of California banning gasoline cars is that a good idea.

Also, having the privilege of living somewhere without pollution… Clean air is a privilege

  • Think Cyberspace

Something interesting I thought from Michael Saylor; before we think about space, thinking cyberspace, that is the ultimate friction free, digital Internet-based, waitlist world and concept:

    Space

Honestly anyone who criticizes or critiques Elon Musk is simply envious or jealous of him. Don’t hate Elon because you are no match for him!

If you think about crazy innovators, engineer artist, it is probably only Elon Musk, Kanye West who is of note.

What is a ingredient for a truly great person? You need a bit of the Dionysian, the crazy. For example, all of the bad sides of Steve Jobs is actually what made him great, and what made apple great. Now, no crazy people left at Apple, only suits.

In fact, if you think about Nietzsche’s Dionysian vs Apollonian concept — Steve Jobs was the Dionysian, and Steve Wozniak was the Apollonian. Or Steve Jobs was the Dionysian, Jony Ive was the Apollonian.

Even if I think about myself, perhaps Cindy is my Apollonian, the God and goddess of wisdom, clarity, prudence, rationality, logic, levelheadedness, pure white.

The Dionysian; the irrational, not connected to reality, harnessing some sort of frenzy like craziness.

“Name one genius that ain’t crazy!” – Ye

“With every great genius is a hint of madness” – Aristotle

Why is it that in modern daytimes, the dietitian is no longer permitted? We are not allowed to be loud, boisterous, full of anger and irrational, violence aggression etc.

Now, all of these Dionysian things are now imputed into sports, UFCMMA fighting, TV shows media and films and movies and comic book characters, never in real life. There’s a separation between media and every day reality.

I’ll give you an example; I’m probably the funniest most comedic, unpredictable person that I know in real life. People seem uncomfortable by me, and sometimes feel insecure whether they should laugh or not. But, I see them in their apartments watching these trashy or these Lame comedy TV shows on HBOHBO Max or Netflix… In private, without any exposure to real life.

    Cowardly vs Courageous?

Now, for men, no longer characterize people as good or bad, whatever… Rather, what separates the Eagles from the lambs is this:

    Are you courageous or cowardly?

For example, I only rate anybody who is courageous who attempts to lift over eight plates, nine plates, or 10 plates on the squat rack. To even touch or attempt or look at it, is something to wonder.

Even more recently in my open air garage gym, some of my neighbors an apartment made saw me racking up the rack with six plates on each side, which was technically only my warm-up, their jaws dropped. Apparently I’ve been starting to be noted as having a “sleeper frame” or “sleeper body”– somebody who is inanely strong but doesn’t necessarily look that strong.

For example, an ex power lifter told me that he did 20 repetitions of a 4 plate, 405 pound deadlift, and he was amazed by my ability to lift 1000 pounds off the rack, because he said that the typical bodybuilder weight lift or power lift or who that strong typically has 19 inch or 20 inch arms. I’m not even sure what that looks like.

Anyways, my general thought behind things is that with enough insane desire, anything is possible, as long as you obey the laws of physics.

    You cannot fake true desire

Or in other words, you cannot fake hate.

    The internet?

It looks like there is currently another big shake up happening in the world of social media, the Internet etc. Even now apparently people are starting to flee Instagram, which only just a few years ago seemed unstoppable. Now apparently TikTok is destroying or gobbling up the massive market share of Instagram, TikTok is usurping Instagram.

How did TikTok become so dominant? Let us not forget that TikTok is effectively owned by a super mega mainland Chinese company, Tencent — my general theory is that essentially mainland China perfected TikTok back home in mainland China, and then once it was unleashed in the states like a virus, it’s spread like wildfire. Even my friend Todd Hata had the foresight and the wisdom to get on TikTok pretty early, becoming an early TikTok foodie influencer restaurant review in Mexico City and beyond.

But with enough sight, you all know when we all know that TikTok will eventually get banded America, perhaps maybe when Donald Trump gets elected into office. Remember when Trump was an office, he saw TikTok and was threatened by it and saw that he didn’t trust a super mega mainly Chinese corporation, taking over the App Store? Initially I think he tried to shut it down, or have it blend with an American company?

Let us consider the asymmetry here; mainland China doesn’t allow America to use any American tech companies mainland China which include Google Facebook Amazon YouTube, Gmail you name it. Yet… America we allow mainland Chinese corporation apps to be used in America? Seems to be a bit of an asymmetry here.

What is the big problem here? I think the number one critical issue here is advertising. Don’t forget when the first election cycle happened, the whole Putin Russia, influencing the US politic election cycle, I think Russia was able to inject only maybe $1 million worth of advertising into the Facebook platform, Creating a huge title shift of a opinion in American politics? I think Mark Zuckerberg testified in Congress, saying that Facebook was not at fault and just saying that “Facebook is an advertising platform.”

I think all of the ills of society maybe could be tracked back to advertising. When you offer a service a product or utility for free, what is the easiest way in the 2000s to monetize it? Advertising, display advertising, pre-roll advertising etc.

But now, in the year 2020 and beyond.. what will be the path forward in terms of monetizing in Cypress space in the Internet? I native Internet currency, a native money, Satoshis and bitcoin.

    Follow Jack

Jack Dorsey might be one of the most underrated entrepreneurs out there, which must mainstream people don’t really know about it. He is the genius behind Twitter, square and now the cash app.

Jack is very very bullish on the lightning network, Satoshi‘s and bitcoin. If Jack Dorsey and Jay Z supports it, block.xyz — it is easy to see that the lightning wallet, bitcoin and Satoshi‘s are the way forward.

In fact, almost the last decade or so, I’ve been thinking very very hard about this very question:

How do you monetize on the internet without advertising?

I think I got the answer: the lightning wallet, the lightning network, Satoshis and bitcoin.

    Why?

In the traditional economy, the traditional marketplace, before media was invented, was money. Or barter and exchange, peer to peer.

I’m currently reading Karl Menger’s principles of economics, and I’m currently in the section which he is building up the idea or the concept of how and why money makes sense.

Essentially Menger Is building up a case in the limits of barter and exchange, let us say that I have horses and you need a horse, and you have cattle, and you need a horse.

The big problem here is there’s a certain part that I cannot cut up my horse and divide my horse up anymore. There is a certain limit in which trading and exchanging or selling and buying horses and cattle as means of exchange in trade and economy no longer is productive. I think what Menger is then building up to Is that essentially the invention and innovation of money, which is economic value divided subdivided into infinitely smaller parts simply a way to increase productivity of exchange, value, etc.

For example, if I have a horse, let us say that I could take it to market and then I could sell it for $100,000. Then, this becomes very useful because instead of just trading it for 10 heads of cattle, I can now Subdivide my money to procure other useful valuable things to me, taking out the tedious exchange cycle.

    Increasing Productivity

Very interesting in Singapore, what they do to try to discourage traffic is first, they charge a very very high tax on cars, to discourage people from purchasing automobiles. Second, even if you have a car, if you want to have the privilege to drive it on the freeway, Especially at certain peak times, you gotta pay money for it with the transponder on your car.

I think South Korea also has a similar model; you could drive your car on certain days of the week, but on other days you cannot.

If you wanted to fix the whole 405 traffic issue, in Los Angeles, very very simple; essentially you would have to pay a nominal sum of money to use their freeway at certain times, or in general.

It doesn’t even have to be that much, let us say that you would only charge a dollar for you to use the 405 to the 10 intersection, or, at peak rush-hour, you might have to pay two dollars or something.

Essentially it is a very very small fee, very very small, not enough to impoverish somebody, but, to give people a little bit of skin in the game, adding a little bit of friction or financial economic friction in order to simply generally slow down or reduce the number of cars on the road.

Maybe even the first venue we could do this for commercial truckers, who seem to be paid anyways by corporations, so maybe they could pay the fee first.

    How to fix email

So now with ChatGPT, we are currently facing a huge problem: anybody, even a robot or a robot can spin up a very very intriguing and intelligent email, which command your attention, or which depletes your energy.

However a big problem that I personally faced my own life is the more famous and popular I got, the more my email inbox started to balloon. The same thing went with text messages I would get, messages on all the social media platforms, etc. And I am only just one human being.

First I would try to create some filters; I stopped putting my private or personal email on my website and blog, and instead direct them to my manager to filter the emails and the opportunities. But also in this issue here is that I still need to figure out how to respond to my manager‘s messages, which also is another thing I must attend to.

Thus, this becomes an interesting thought experiment, seems that everybody wants to just get super super rich, by your mansion, just have a bunch of people maintain your property for you, maybe buy or get a house manager or property manager whatever… But eventually, you still have to manage the manager. Which is more work for you.

I read from NASSIM TALEB that one piece of advice that he got from another successful guy he met was this: don’t have a personal assistant. Why? Even if you had the world‘s best personal assistant, they might be really really good at organizing your schedule, slotting in appointments for you or meetings or whatever, but still the big downside here is I think if you have a personal assistant, eventually you will end up creating more work for you; Let us assume that you work eight hours a day, and you have 850 minute timeslots. An assistant might help you perfectly slot in all eight individuals to meet you on the given day.

However, the true desired path and outcome is to not have any meetings at all; so having a personal assistant might sucker you into doing these boring and waste of time meetings, which could otherwise be better spent just hanging out and playing with your kid instead!

    Real men have children

Are you watching the movie 300, there is a scene in which King Leonidas is about to march off with his valiant 300, and before he marches them off to battle, essentially foreshadowing their death, he made sure that each of them had at least one son to carry on the lineage and the families name.

    This is interesting because the general thought of bloodline;

It doesn’t matter if I die, as long as I have a son to carry on the family bloodline and lineage, it is OK!

I suppose this is why it is such a big deal for families to have at least one male heir; or the strong desire for a man or a father to get at least one son.

I’ve always wanted two kids as a kid, an older son, a younger sister. Very similar to how I have a younger sister who is two years younger than me.

If you’re man, and you get a child, and your first child is a man, a boy or a son… Consider yourself infinitely blessed. After this, life is all upside no downside.

Then after this, certainly you could choose to have more kids, if you desire. If you desire not have any more kids, it’s still seems that you are solid, assuming that your kid does not tragically get hit by an intoxicated driver — either drunk or high while driving. Or running red lights or speeding like crazy.

In fact, spending more more time living in Los Angeles, and seeing some of these insane drivers, I’m almost tempted to get a job, a part-time job as California highway police, in order to deliver justice to these insane drivers. Why? One crazy driver could mean the potential death of your child.

Maybe time for me to become vigilante justice warrior– Batman style!

    Smoking?

A random unrelated note, in the context of smoking.

First, I have zero respect for anyone who smoke cigarettes. I have an insanely strong aversion to cigarettes smoke and smoking, because my father was a chronic and horrific smoker, I hate the smell smell like the devil.

Now special with Seneca, when we are out walking in public, the problem is if somebody is smoking on some sort of street corner, and they happen to be upwind or downwind or whatever… Even if that person is 50 m away, that horrific cigarettes smoke will blow down to you and your kid.

One recent proud thing that I stood up was when I was in Santa Monica, Ocean Park, playing at a beachfront playground with Seneca, and there was a random asshole maybe 100 m away smoking a cigarette. I could instantly smell the smoke, and even though he was far away, the smoke was directly blowing into me and Seneca in the playground, and technically we are trapped.

I then yelled at the guy, for him to smoke somewhere else. He then looked at me disgruntled, slowly walked away, and then started to me mugged me, I stared at him back, waiting until he moved very very far away. True balls.

Another case when I was in Vietnam with Seneca and Cindy, and this is one Seneca was super small, and we were all stuck under a canopy when a random downpour started hitting us. And then suddenly there was a random middle-age guy who randomly lit up a cigarette and started smoking, giving secondhand smoke to all 40 of us trapped inside the canopy. I then said in Vietnamese for him to please not smoke because my kid was there. He was shocked, put out the cigarette, and looked back curiously at me… I was the hero of the day.

Now, even when I’m walking on the street with Seneca, and there is a random person smoking on the street corner… In a public or a semi-public space, I almost wonder if I’m going to start being the asshole and telling people to not smoke there. Or to not smoke in public.

    “No smoking in public!”

    Or

    “Don’t smoke in public!”

I’m just gonna pretend like I’m an undercover cop, or some sort of law enforcement individual.

I was randomly studying the laws of smoking in public, and it seems to be grey. Here, maybe studying laws not useful; but rather, some sort of bottom up ethics.

if you want to smoke cigarettes, smoke yourself in an enclosed home or space or car, give yourself lung cancer, don’t pollute my air.

    Other thoughts

I think irregardless of what your opinion is about space, look at the space camp, the star ship SpaceX camp they have in Texas, a whole thriving micro economy in space within that tiny plot of land. Very inspirational!

    Now what?

The other day I did a lot of driving, it totally sapped my energy.

Let us not be fools– our energy, our lifeforce energy and physiological energy is limited. Every 20 minutes or 30 minutes you spend driving on the road is draining your metaphorical life force energy battery. Maybe we should start getting “energy anxiety“ about potential things which can drain our life force energy battery.

My simple thought about living the best possible life in LA:

Never drive more than five minutes a day!

    Range anxiety

Let us say that you have a Tesla, or some sort of electric vehicle, and you start off the day with only a limited amount of battery in your car, and let us say that the rule is during the middle of the day you cannot recharge your car at a supercharger or whatever. if that were the case, wouldn’t you more conserve your life force energy?

They taking that analogy to your physiological energy. You start off the day with 100% battery energy charge, but as you proceeded through the days activities, drive or sitting in a car, it depletes your life force energy.

Then, the goal is to only direct your energy towards things you truly care for, and whenever you do decide to do something, realize that you’re sacrificing a zero sum energy source to accomplish your certain tasks or goals in a certain day.

    Now what?

First thought is then I think the way we should think about money is that money is essentially Lifeforce energy.

Let us consider, earning money, earning income, building up money, accumulating money is very very difficult. Essentially it comes down to your own labor life force; in whether you do physically demanding physical labor, or mentally intensive labor. It is all labor, and typically, any sort of labor in which you get paid, a paycheck, a salary or whatever… You are essentially trading your own physiological Lifeforce energy into obtaining income money.

Let it say you sacrifice 10 years of your life working really really hard, traveling the world, dealing with Jetlag, putting a lot of great energy effort to provide some sort of service or something. And then you accumulate $1 million.

I think for anybody who has ever had to really really work really really hard for their own money, you will not squander your money. Why? Because you know how hard it was to earn it! This is typically why when people gain an inheritance, or win the lottery or somehow get free money, the typically below it foolishly Because they don’t know how hard it was to earn that money.

Also this is why trust fund kids become so degenerate because they never had to work hard for the money, the trust fund etc.

So what should you do instead?

first, you don’t have a trust fund and you don’t promise a trust fund to your kid. Irregardless of how rich you are.

Rather, you are directly involved in the life of your old kid, and if your kid grows up and has some sort of entrepreneurial business idea, then you use intelligence to use your hard earned money to invest in that thing.

For example, something that I learned from taking out a student loan, I think what else I used to say undergraduate, I took out a five or a $10,000 loan, and it was insane how quickly I blew through the money. I was shocked. And I was only maybe 20 years old?

Truth be told, I think I only really became lies about money once I had a kid. So if I were to leave my inheritance to Seneca, the role is he only could unlock that inheritance once he has a kid?

so what is the purpose of money?

I think a very very simple one it’s too essentially have a war chest, to give yourself buffer, in order not to work.

For example, the proper use of money is to have enough money that you don’t have to work, and spend maximum time with your kid.

For example, let us say that you are a billionaire, the fullest strategy is to pay somebody else might need to take care of your kid, while you go off and you try to earn more money, which is a foolish trade. What do you do instead it is just chill with your billion dollars, and just direct 100% of your life force energy to your kid!

    True success?

True success I think is being able to take your kid to the public library in the middle of a workday! Other day I was so blessed that I was able to take Seneca to the Chinatown Public library at 10 AM, for him to watch a Korean drumming event, I looked around the room, no dads, maybe a handful of moms. Just me.

  • Perfection?

How do you know when you have perfect, perfection? My thoughts; when you’re in a position in which you wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world?

For example, Seneca. There is nothing I would ever even imagine trading Seneca for.

    Trading in your car?

Something that it seems that Americans are obsessed with is to constantly trade in their car, “upgrade it“ for something new or “better“?

For example, at my apartment I currently have one parking spot, one car, zero intentions of having more than one vehicle.

Also, because I am renting, no electric charger. Also living in Los Angeles.

The first thoughts; if I could trade my 2010 Prius for anything, any vehicle, assuming that it would be my only vehicle… What would I actually trade it for?

For example, I love the idea of cyber truck, but truth be told, given my current living situations and living in Los Angeles, I’m actually not sure that owning a cyber truck would be a wise idea. Why? I’d love taking Seneca to the park, when I take him to the park in Holmby Hills, parking is often very limited. Almost every single time I will have to circle the entire park to just look for one very short and narrow parking spot.

I think when it comes down to it, and your squeezed, the law of physics, you must obey. No matter how rich or smart or innovative you are, you cannot squeeze your vehicle to magically become more compact to fit that tiny parking spot, or, another thing… a max Mo skinny or slim car to also fit into those insanely tight parking spots. This will often happen when you are trying to park in a parking garage or parking lot… Some fat person SUV well often park a little bit off, which means that only about 80% of a car can fit in that spot. Fortunately there has been a handful of times, even at the Getty museum in which my 2010 Prius was barely able to squeeze in. Thank God!

So when I think about the current lineup of vehicles, it seems that at the end of the day… The only real practical car worth getting is not the Tesla model S, it is too wide and too long, not the Tesla model X, similarly speaking, it might be longer and wider than it needs to be, and also driving an SUV is not very fun, not the Tesla model, the problem here is that I test drove it and truth be told it is not very comfortable to drive on the freeway, funny enough my 2010 Prius is at least an 80% more comfortable ride on the freeway!

Then by process of elimination, the best car or the best Tesla or electric car to have in Los Angeles is the Tesla model three, and I have not drove it yet, I think when really comes out to it… Having maximum range is what eventually wins. Why? Let us say that you were trying to do a road trip somewhere, and your Tesla could only make 95% the way there before having to stop by a supercharger to charge. Pretty annoying, especially when you got two crying kids in the back of your car.

    Range

I was randomly studying the etymology for the word durable, durability, durus– I always thought it meant hard, but when you really really go to the origin of the word, it means long. Long duration.

What that then means is the reason why hardness or being hard is a good thing is that it allows you to last longer. Or for something to last longer.

For example, for the most part currently steel is the hardest strongest most durable metal we got. Steel will theoretically last a lifetime, given that you maintain it, sand it down every once in a while, repaint it etc.

    Weightlifting equipment

One purchase that I am insanely happy about is my Texas power bar, 55 pounds, massive and huge, perfect grip and knurling, Long sleeves, I think the thing could rack at least 5000 pounds if it wanted to. It is one of the few things I can imagine passing down to Seneca, having him use it when he grows up! And also, very likely he will be able to pass it down to his kids, and his kids kids. Maybe dad power squat weightlifting bar will be like the family Rolex, cherished, kept and maintained, and then tent is to never sell it, but to always pass it down generation to generation.

    The family Rolex

A very curious object in my possession, currently in a safe somewhere is the family Rolex. Apparently my grandfather on my father side, was a very wealthy businessman, I think he bought and sold alcohol, and imagined this… In the 1920s in South Korea, in which South Korea maybe had the same or worse GDP than most African nations, my grandfather owned a German Contax II camera, and also a stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Rolex which still works today!

Anyways, the family Rolex is an heirloom which will never be sold, it will only be handed down generation to generation, from father to son, indefinitely. Molly hope is that Seneca will one day have a son of his own, and if he doesn’t, has a daughter instead, Give it to the daughter, and just keep passing it down generation to generation, head of the household.

Interesting where he gave me the Rolex sometime I think in high school or college, he told me that no matter how broke he was, no matter how desperate he was, he never sold the Rolex. I didn’t even know it existed!

Anyways it becomes interesting because that means there are certain things that we keep, which we never intend on selling. The value of it is infinite, and as time goes on, it will keep going up!

So the first interest thought then is wealth is a mental thing; if you know that you have 100 gold bars locked in a vault somewhere, and you have the key… If become a little bit less anxious about the future because you know if shit hits the fan, Even though it will cause great difficulty, in theory you could liquidate the gold bars, and economically you will be fine.

Million times better than this is bitcoin, which is like Internet, digital, programmable gold, which has a half-life of forever, a true scarcity hard at 21 million bitcoins, compare this with gold which we still are discovering new mines in Africa and on the planet! What is interesting about gold is that we always think of it as a scarcity, but it isn’t. There are still tons and tons of gold which have been discovered on the planet; if you increase the price of gold, then the minors will get to work, and I will guarantee they will discover more gold.

Thing I remember during the war Iraq and all these other conflicts, the general idea was oil was very scarce, and that we were running out or whatever. And then when shit hit the fan, how to know where it seems that the concept of fracking came along, and almost miraculously, we were able to create all this new oil in America that seemed untapped?

also, what is very interesting about America is that actually, it seems that we have a shit load of oil, like a lot. And it seems that the strategy of America is to just hoard our own oil, and deplete the oil of other countries, because we don’t want to be in a defensive position in regards to oil.

Therefore as a commodity, oil isn’t truly scares, you could keep making more of it if you wanted to! And all of these loser environmentalist, and like, it looks like a lot of their predictions about the end of the world or whatever, were mostly unheeded. just rewatch an inconvenient truth, no no no, the planet is not submerged in water.

    Bold optimism

This morning, the word that came to mind is bold. Bold innovation, bold money, bold living, bold is better.

I think the motto of today’s world is meek, meekness. When people are antisocial, they are just meek, cowardly, wimpy and emasculated.

For example a strange bias or fashion trend I’ve been seeing for men, is this weird aesthetic of everyone sporting a Hitler mustache? I thought we Americans were anti-Hitler and anti-German?

Also, seems that Americans for some reason, love to give fellatio to German cars, Porsches, 911, etc. Don’t most people in Americans know that Hitler essentially invented or started the Volkswagen car and group, which also owns Lamborghini, Bugatti, Porsche, etc.?

For example, rich wealthy and prosperous Americans, eventually aspire to own a Mercedes BMW, porch, etc. Even most wealthy entrepreneurs in America, as a man once you become successful, ultimate aspiration is to purchase a Porsche 911, 911 GT three RS, maybe a Lamborghini or a Ferrari?

Instead, maybe the motto should be that German cars are only for weaklings, let us not forget that America beat the Nazis, America is by far the superior fighting force against the Germans, during World War II.

And even Lamborghini I’m starting to realize… I think the whole appeal is towards Italian design? But the colonial powers of Germany, has Usurped Lamborghini into its lineup, and truth be told, nobody cares about Italy anymore. Americans only desire to go to Italy to see the past ruins of the Colosseum, maybe eat pizza whatever, but for the most part, Italy is no more. Same thing goes for the French.

    America is on top?

If you think about it, all of the world most valuable companies are all American. Amazon Facebook Twitter post Apple Microsoft etc. This is the new digital colonialism; once again, no way in hell would rich mainland Chinese person preferred to have a phone over an iPhone pro. All the world richest men are American.

But when did America fall out of vogue?

First, to be pro America is seen as dumb, backwards, knuckle draggers. For example, no educated or wealthy or prosperous American that I know is actually “pro“ America (besides perhaps myself, ERIC KIM EAGLE SCOUT). There’s a strange kind of shame mentality to being American; we kind of know that we are the best, but the same time, we are made to feel bad about it, kind of the Christian Judeo guilt associated in it.

For example, we all kind of know that America is a bad guy, we colonize and destroy other people, cultures, or, we end up assimilating them, we maintain global dominance, sap the resources of all other countries, and we maintain our dominance across the planet.

Why is it that I have never seen an American, a wealthy American, or an entrepreneurial American aspiring to American things, American values, American products?

For example, is there even such a thing as American luxury? Not really. For example, if you think about luxury clothes, very easily does Louis Vuitton come to mind and Gucci, but are there any really luxurious American clothing brands which are mainstream? None that I can think of.

Or, even the notion of American luxury car; does it exist? No.

Currently what we Americans have going for us is cyber truck. It is by far the hottest car to have an own and drive in LA; the cyber truck will break more than any loser Lamborghini or Ferrari.

And as time is going on, I am starting to think more and more… The downsides of owning a Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche 911 Porsche 911 GT three RS, any foreign or even domestic car that runs on premium gasoline:

    1. Maintenance:

Maintenance costs, and even worse… Maintenance time. For example, let it say that you have to get a oil change in your Lamborghini, or the alternator in your Lamborghini goes out. It will probably be very annoying to have to get it fixed. And also think that the great annoyance here is that even though you’re super rich, having to take your car into the shop, it’s always a hassle, no matter how rich you are. And also even if you’re super rich, having to pay out-of-pocket for expensive repairs, nobody likes the feeling no matter how rich you are. For example even if all is a billionaire, and suddenly there was a $10,000 repair job on my car, I would be pretty annoyed. This is one grand upside of having some sort of electric super sports car, at least you know that maintenance cost will be less. Also, fewer maintenance headaches.

    2. Time space continuum and location

If you think about time and space, These are two things from physics perspective you cannot change.

For example, let us say that you currently live in a very desirable location somewhere, and your gridlocked in traffic all around you. The difference between owning or renting an apartment or a home even a few blocks this way or that way makes a big difference.

For example, I currently live on the street in Culver City, the perfect distance and location to the metro E line, close walking proximity to the best hot yoga studios, essentially the only and the best place to walk around in Los Angeles.

I was contemplating on purchasing property in the neighborhood, even a few blocks the other direction. But that would be bad because it would add at least 10 or 15 minutes to our commute, which is a positively bad thing, when we are in a hurry or in a rush. Saving time, or minimizing time distance is key.

When push comes to shelf, always being closer and proximity to something is superior; especially when you’re rushing off to a yoga class, and you only have two minutes to get there.

    American cars?

So the first thought is if you want to be the big swinging deck in the room, the big silver caulk, cyber truck is your best bet. Essentially it is $120,000 silver stainless steel penis on steroids.

If you want everybody on the road or the street or the freeway or in traffic to bow down and obey you, placate to you, kowtow to you, cybertruck is the way. I also believe the 0 to 60 speed on the cyber beast is only 2.6 seconds; faster than any Porsche 911! And the stainless steel excel skeleton is literally bulletproof, and also I think the windows are quite bulletproof as well. I’m not sure how it does in the crash testing, But assuming that you have kids in the backseats, you probably feel safe?

    Corvette

A very innovative car that I like is the new mid engine Corvette. Even Seneca got confused, he saw it on the road and he thought it was either a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, because of the massive side air ducts, and the overall stance proportions and jet fighter jet pilot Look of it; it is essentially like having a Lamborghini or a Ferrari without having to pay the sucker price tag!

I even had a vision of creating a fake Ferrari; you essentially get a red new Corvette, some yellow brake calipers, put on some fake Ferrari emblems, change up the body style a bit, maybe change up the tail lights or the headlights or at a body kit or something… And I think most people would not know that it wasn’t a Ferrari.

    scissor doors?

Everyone wants the billionaire doors; the suicide doors this is our doors the gull wing doors, the butterfly doors whatever you want to call it.

but if you put up suicide doors, and you’re the only person who goes inside the car and witnesses yourself going to the car… Is it worth it?
