My friend Josh White is my favorite contemporary photographer. Why? He shoots with his soul, his photos are authentic, and reveal who he is, and how he sees the world.
I’m currently editing together Josh’s work, and I love his work because he mixes all genres of photography. He doesn’t care whether it’s a portrait of a loved one, whether a photo of a street, of a stranger, etc. He shoots what’s significant and meaningful to him, which I think photography should be about.
I believe photography is about exploring our own inner world, and sharing that perspective or view with others.
In following Josh’s blog, I follow his life. I feel I’ve grown as a photographer and person, alongside him, and also learning through him.
I’m currently putting together a digital PDF book of his entire work so far. Here’s some photos Josh has sent me so far, to sample his incredible range as a photographer.
