Where does everyone want to live?
In America, it seems that most Americans aspire to live in New York. In Europe, London. The rich Chinese desire to send their kids to elite Ivy League schools, and maybe they prefer to live in either Vancouver or somewhere in California. Which you are, nobody likes pollution. Shanghai in Beijing seem to polluted, the rich aspire to live somewhere green, with fresh and clean air.
I also observed a lot of Rolls-Royce‘s, Lamborghinis, and Bentleys here in Cambodia, in Phnom Penh. It seems they are all owned by rich Chinese foreigners; better to be a rich Chinese with a Rolls-Royce in Phnom Penh, rather than being middle rich in mainland China.
Then perhaps the aspiration is this: to live somewhere else.

Why Can’t the Japanese Innovate?
The most dependable car in the world is probably a Toyota Camry or a Toyota Prius. Yet, it is also the most boring car.
Why is it that the Japanese cannot innovate? My belief is that the Japanese back in the day were very much like how we see the Chinese today; they build their wealth through pure manpower, and their ability to subjugate the masses to obey orders. If you observe the Japanese society, it is one of the most subservient ones.
If you look at Japanese cameras, they are just iterations of already successful German cameras. It seems that all Japanese cameras are effectively a new iteration of the original Leica M camera.
Maybe the reason why Americans are so innovative is the vain desire to be unique. The disdain of following orders. This is why Americans are often seen as “lazy“, because Americans don’t like following orders.
If it was not for the radical audacity of Steve Jobs, technologically speaking, the world would be a lot uglier. The reason why Elon Musk is so innovative is that he has “Asbergersâ€. This is the source of his power.
Why Korean-Americans are so different from Koreans
I have also observed is that Korean, and Korean Americans are almost like from two different finance. They are not alike. We are not alike.
Why is that? A self-selecting thing; a lot of the original Korean American immigrants were entrepreneurial. And, because a lot of Korean Americans like myself who were born in the states were raised on American media, we ourselves also sought for individuality, rule breaking, and pursuing our life passions.
In Korea, it is very different. The goal is to become as wealthy as possible, by getting a good “chaebol†company job, ideally at Samsung or Hyundai.
The notion of becoming self-employed, or becoming an entrepreneur is not even an idea or notion in Korea. The only word I know is “arbeitâ€, which is a German-Korean word for part-time work, like tutoring English. Even my Korean mom didn’t know the Korean word for self-employed.
Also, whether the Koreans or Japanese like it or don’t like it, Koreans and Japanese are more similar than than dissimilar. Both are now pseudo-colonies of America.
After the IMF crisis in Korea, America essentially bailed them out. Also, the American military presence in South Korea. Japan has effectively surrendered itself to America after World War II.
Also to my understanding, Japan doesn’t have a military anymore. A country without a military cannot write its own rules.
We also now can see that Russia is no longer a threat; Russia wasn’t even strong enough militarily to subjugate Ukraine. Zero chance of Russia doing anything to America or China.
Also, America has nothing to really hear about China; the rich autocrats which run China are more interested in their personal wealth-getting, rather than military domination. Even the Chinese activities in Africa seem to be more about resource resources, to increase their own wealth.
The future will probably be more of a synthesis or a hybrid between the rich of America and China; Americans doing the innovating and the Chinese doing the production.
Apple innovating, and China producing.

Approach your own life like your own life was a Greek mythology?
Life is more fun when you approach your life, thinking as if you were a demigod. Part man, part god. Very much like an Achilles or Hercules. Far better to be an Achilles than a Hector (just a mere man).

ANTI BLEND, ANTI HYBRID?
â€Cool Prius!†(said nobody)
Perhaps a blend or a hybrid (or even worse, plug-in hybrid) is a poor compromise. Hybrids are boring — they please nobody. They’re not fast, nor are they loud, nor are they that fast. Electric cars are great because you can innovate so much more with them — no engine means you can innovate so much more with the cabin space. Also the downside of hybrid cars that we still need to do oil changes! Like Elon Musk said, “Hybrid cars are still 100% dependent on oil.â€
No halfway measures. Either eat an all you can eat meat buffet, or fast.
Same with working out — either an insanely epic one rep max at the gym, or just sleep or nap and chill at home. Maybe same with coffee consumption — either drink a shitload or none at all.
Also, either 100% arabica or 100% robusta — no blends.
Also with fabrics, either 100% merino wool or 100% polyester. Either 100% natural or 100% synthetic.
With cars, better to either have a Tesla or a gas-guzzler. Also for Lamborghini — either Lambo doors (scissor doors) or nothing. Anti Hurucan.
Also with pricing, either very expensive or free.
Yin or yang. Woman as white, man as black. Anti grey.
Clothes as more stylish either when very tight fitting, or oversized. No medium.
Aesthetically, either insanely minimalist, or extremely maximalist and busy.
Either masculine or feminine, nothing in-between.
Either made in China, or USA — nothing in-between.
Anti SUV, anti crossover.
Either 2-seater sportscar, or coupe, or nothing. Anti 4-door “sports sedanâ€.
With Porsche, either 911 or nothing.
With Ford, either F150 Raptor, Shelby or nothing.
Either racecar (track only), or no car.
Either American or Chinese — no in-between cultures.
With powerlifting, either 100% raw (no belt, no straps, no knee wraps) or 100% equipped.
With ethics, either silent or 100% full-force anger.
With your kid, either 100% present or 0% present.
Long hair or buzz cut — no inbetween.
Either 100% invested, or 0% invested. With cryptocurrency, either bitcoin or nothing.
Also with electric cars, either Tesla or nothing.
Either rich or poor. Also when choosing a profession, best to optimize to get a job that is insanely moneymaking, rather than a “middle paying job†like marketing advertising. Certainly do not work for a nonprofit. Either be a banker or nothing.
Oh if you’re not an entrepreneur, and you’re not interested in working for yourself, better to have an extremely lucrative job and 100% focus on your passion on the side, rather than striving to get an “in between†job.
With living, either live in the city or in the countryside. Do not live in the suburbs. Also, do not live in Brooklyn. Either you live in Manhattan, or nowhere.
With shoes, either barefoot or Vibram five fingers, or Goretex boots, no in between.
Either man or woman.
Also perhaps either desktop or mobile, anti laptop.
With education, either phd or nothing.

AMERICANS ARE MASTER MARKETERS
Why companies and Chinese goods are not desirable; they don’t really know marketing.
It also seems that this point, English is and will probably always be the global language. Why? The Internet is in English. Computer programming is in English. The best music and movies and pop culture is also American.

-
BECOME MORE DEMANDING
The funny thing about Americans — we are actually not very demanding. We â€hate to bother you, but…†we never truly directly express our desires or preferences. But the irony is this:
The more we ask for, and the more demanding we are, the more people respect us, and also the more they give us!
Nobody likes a pushover.

HOW MY SON HAS IMPROVED MY LIFE
First of all, he has made me more adventurous. He hates being at home or indoors, and this gives me the opportunity to go more out and about, which also affords me more photo opportunities!
Second, he has forced me to become more creative. More creative with my time, more creative in terms of inventing games, and has also made me become more appreciative of the world and of being alive. Also, more observant of the small things (lights, buses, etc).
Also for me to question things — why things are a certain way. To see the world again, carte blanche, with fresh new eyes.

When you have a video of something, shoot screenshots while watching it full-screen on your laptop (of interesting key moments for you) and upload those *in addition to* the video itself!
