  • INVINCIBLE, INVULNERABLE.

So currently in LA, starting to get pretty cold. I guess proper LA winter is upon us, especially when the sun is out, it is actually pretty cold.

    Solutions —

First, there’s no such thing as bad weather only bad clothes. Military grade camouflage goretex jacket, a real one that I got from my brother-in-law Khanh who served in Afghanistan, I think this jacket is worth at least $5000, I got it for free, best thing ever. It is quite long, the goretex protects me from all the wind, and when it gets cold, the hood is clutch.

Second, LA SPORTIVA goretex boots. I got a pair from REI, maybe I dropped around 300 bucks, best investment of all time. Also when I was in Providence Rhode Island I bought some alpaca socks, they are phenomenal. Even better than wool, merino wool. Something about the alpaca material is insanely warm, the lanolin animal oil fibers or something almost feels like there is perpetually lotion on my feet. Also breathable and warm, and also not too tight fitting.

For pants and leggings, just get some merino wool leggings on Amazon, and pair it with some athletic shorts, more than enough to keep your legs warm.

For your core and chest, having a simple MUJI sleeveless down jacket, without the hood, is always a good base layer to always wear whenever.

For your home, don’t be a cheapo; crank up the heat if you want. Also as a pro tip, for our new apartment we found that there was a really bad draft that came in from the front door, which lowered the house temperature by about five or 6°. As a consequence we bought these cold weather doorstop things on Amazon, and sealed up The door and the draft, and as a consequence, the department passivelyx maintains a base temperature of at least five or 6° higher.

Also if you’re really cold, just take an insanely hot bath at home, or an insanely hot hot shower. Alternate and undulate with cold baths and cold showers, and physiologically you will hype yourself up.

Also, hot yoga, hot eight, CorePower, whatever; they all seem pretty good. I actually have an entrepreneurial vision of just creating an ideal space or a gym which has a really really hot sauna, ice bath, etc.… and turn it into a new modern day Greek gymnasium, also an outdoor space where I could just work out topless. Or if women want to work out in sports bras or whatever. I actually wonder if legally, a woman is allowed to work out topless outdoors, if she wanted to?

    Why does this matter?

I think a weird and a bad bias that we make in today’s world is that we neglect disregard and for some reason, we don’t think that physiology is really that important or critical? This really weird notion that “mind power, “willpower“ trumps everything?

  • JUST USE ALL THE TOOLS!

For etymology, sometimes ChatGPT 4 is better, sometimes just wiktionary.org

  • Fair etymology

Haha “white supremacy” is already integrated in this notion of “being fair” to others haha

The shift in the meaning of “fair” from a general sense of beauty, pleasantness, or agreeableness to specifically denoting lightness of skin or hair is a reflection of historical and cultural influences. Several factors contribute to this shift:

    1. Cultural Associations and Ideals: In many Western cultures, particularly during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, light skin was often associated with beauty and nobility. This was partly because a lighter complexion was thought to indicate a higher social status, as those with lighter skin were less likely to work outdoors and thus had less sun exposure. Over time, these cultural preferences influenced language usage, narrowing the meaning of “fair” in certain contexts to describe light skin.
    2. Linguistic Evolution: Language naturally evolves over time, and words often develop specialized meanings in addition to their broader original senses. The shift in “fair” to refer to skin color is an example of this process. The word retained its broader connotations of beauty and pleasantness while gaining a more specific application in describing physical traits.
    3. Historical Contexts and Literature: The use of “fair” in literature, particularly in poetic and romantic contexts, further reinforced its association with lightness of skin or hair. Writers often used “fair” to describe characters esteemed for their beauty, thereby perpetuating this specific use of the word.

This shift in meaning is a reminder of how language is not static but dynamically interacts with social, cultural, and historical contexts. The meanings of words can both reflect and influence societal norms and values.

    Like fair skin?

Yes, the etymology of “fair” is quite interesting. It traces back to the Old English “fæger,” meaning beautiful, pleasant, or agreeable. This word has Germanic roots, likely from the Proto-Germanic “*fagraz,” which means fitting or suitable. Over time, the meaning of “fair” evolved to include notions of fairness and equitableness, possibly influenced by the idea of something being agreeable or pleasing in a moral or ethical sense. This shift reflects how language can evolve to encompass broader, more abstract concepts from more concrete or physical origins.

    Why shift

Yes, the word “fair” in “fair skin” comes from the same etymological roots. Originally meaning beautiful, pleasant, or agreeable in Old English, “fair” was often used to describe someone who had a light, bright, or clear appearance, especially in terms of complexion. Over time, this specific use of “fair” became a common way to describe a light skin tone. The evolution of this word reflects historical perceptions of beauty and desirability associated with lighter skin tones in many Western cultures. This association is a clear example of how language not only communicates ideas but can also reflect and perpetuate cultural norms and values.

    What’s etymology of “foreign”

The word “foreign” comes from the Old English “foren,” which itself originated from the Latin word “foris” meaning “outside.” Over time, this evolved into “foreign” in Middle English, influenced by the Old French word “forain,” which derived from the Latin “foranus,” meaning “on the outside, exterior.” These roots reflect the fundamental meaning of “foreign” as something from outside one’s own country or community. The concept of “foreign” inherently relates to boundaries, whether literal or metaphorical, distinguishing what is familiar and local from what is different and external.

  • WHAT’S FUTURE TRADING?

Future trading, in the realm of finance, is a fascinating concept. It’s like a blend of prediction, commitment, and strategic play. Imagine a marketplace where instead of buying or selling tangible goods immediately, you enter into a contract to buy or sell these goods at a predetermined price on a specific date in the future. These ‘goods’ can be anything from agricultural commodities like wheat or coffee to financial instruments like stocks or currencies.

The essence of future trading is speculation and hedging. Speculators, akin to fortune-tellers in a financial market, bet on the price movement of these assets. They aim to profit from the fluctuations in prices. On the other side, there are hedgers, like cautious chess players, who use futures contracts to mitigate the risk of price changes in their business operations. For example, a farmer might use futures to lock in a price for their crop to protect against the risk of prices falling before harvest.

The intriguing part is the blend of risk, analysis, and prediction. It requires a thoughtful approach, not unlike philosophical reasoning, where each decision is a mix of calculated foresight and informed speculation. It’s a domain where innovation and entrepreneurship can thrive, especially with the advent of digital trading platforms and sophisticated financial instruments. Future trading isn’t just about financial gain; it’s a dance of strategy, foresight, and risk management that echoes the dynamic nature of business and investment.

  • What is Ada cardano— and potential critiques

    1. Sustainability — nobody cares for this.

    4. Cardano — terrible name.

    It doesn’t do anything

Read this lame ass marketing copy:

Don’t trust anything which mentions “change makers , innovators and visionaries” and “positive global change”.

    Who not to trust

No no no… anything peer reviewed is patently bad!!!

Ouroboros — nobody can pronounce nor say it. Nobody cares for “foundational research” and “tireless effort”.

Proof-Of-Stake And Ouroboros: The Most Environmentally Sustainable Blockchain Protocol

Ouroboros is the first peer-reviewed, verifiably secure blockchain protocol, and Cardano is the first blockchain to implement it. Ouroboros enables the Cardano network’s decentralization, and allows it to sustainably scale to global requirements without, crucially, compromising security.

The protocol is the culmination of tireless effort, building on foundational research, and is propelled by a vision for more secure and transparent global payment systems, and a means to redistribute, more fairly, power and control.

Cardano is a proof-of-stake blockchain platform: the first to be founded on peer-reviewed research and developed through evidence-based methods. It combines pioneering technologies to provide unparalleled security and sustainability to decentralized applications, systems, and societies.

With a leading team of engineers, Cardano exists to redistribute power from unaccountable structures to the margins – to individuals – and be an enabling force for positive change and progress.

Making The World Work Better For All

Cardano is a blockchain platform for changemakers, innovators, and visionaries, with the tools and technologies required to create possibility for the many, as well as the few, and bring about positive global change.

Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain platform designed for enabling smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps). It distinguishes itself through a strong focus on sustainability, scalability, and interoperability. Cardano utilizes a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism called Ouroboros, designed to be more energy-efficient than proof-of-work systems used by platforms like Bitcoin.

    Potential critiques of Cardano include:

    1. Slow Development: Critics often point out Cardano’s methodical and academic approach to development, which can be slower compared to other blockchain projects.
    2. Adoption Challenges: While Cardano aims for high scalability and interoperability, it still faces challenges in widespread adoption and practical use cases, particularly in competing with more established platforms like Ethereum.
    3. Market Volatility: As with many cryptocurrencies, Cardano’s price can be highly volatile, making it a risky investment.
    4. Technological Complexity: The scientific and research-based approach of Cardano, while a strength, can also be a barrier for broader understanding and adoption among non-technical users.

  • THE WORLD *NEEDS* UGLY PEOPLE

Even though I have ugliness… we cannot have a world or would even desire a world without ugliness?

    Question —

How can we leverage ugliness to our benefit?

  • I HATE UGLY PEOPLE

    Uggr— fear, apprehension.

Ugly is first fear, then aesthetics?

Easier to identify what you consider ugly, rather than what you consider “beautiful”.

Ugly cars, ugly homes, ugly people, ugly facial characteristics, ugly body physique, ugly clothing, ugly technology, ugly personalities characteristics characters and speech and action patterns?

    Ugly interior homes. Ugly products.

Ugliness is in the eye of the beholder.

How did it transform into meaning that Ugly was aesthetic?

The transformation of “ugly” from a term denoting fear to one signifying aesthetic unpleasantness is a fascinating linguistic evolution, reflecting changes in societal values and perceptions.

Originally, “ugly” was closely tied to fear and apprehension, as in Old Norse “uggligr” (“dreadful, fearful”). This connection implies that what was feared was often also perceived as unpleasant or undesirable. Over time, as language and society evolved, the focus shifted more towards physical appearance and less on the emotional response of fear.

This shift could be attributed to several factors:

    1. Changing Social Norms: As societies developed, the importance placed on physical appearance and beauty standards likely influenced the language. What was “fearful” or “dreadful” in a more superstitious and survival-oriented era could have gradually been seen more in terms of physical appearance as societies became more complex and stratified.
    2. Broader Usage in Communication: As the word was used in different contexts, its meaning could have broadened or shifted. Language often evolves based on how people use words in daily conversation, literature, and other forms of communication.
    3. Psychological Association: There might be a psychological link between what is feared and what is perceived as aesthetically unpleasant. This could be rooted in an evolutionary perspective, where things that were feared (like danger or illness) were also seen as undesirable or “ugly.”
    4. Cultural Interpretations: Different cultures have varying standards and interpretations of beauty and aesthetics. Over time, the word “ugly” could have been influenced by these varying standards, leading to its current association with aesthetic unpleasantness.

From a philosophical standpoint, this evolution raises interesting questions about the nature of beauty and fear, and how societal values and perceptions shape language. It’s a reminder that the words we use are deeply embedded in our culture, history, and collective psychology.

    Etymology of Ugly

The etymology of “ugly” is quite intriguing. It originates from the Old Norse word “uggligr,” meaning “dreadful, fearful.” This word, in turn, is derived from “ugga,” which means “to fear, apprehend.” The evolution of the word reflects a shift from a sense of fear to one of aesthetic unpleasantness. In Middle English, it appeared as “uglike” or “ughlike,” gradually transforming into the modern English “ugly.”

This shift from a meaning of fear to one of physical unattractiveness highlights how language evolves, often reflecting changes in societal attitudes and perceptions. The transition might imply a link between fear and the perception of physical beauty or lack thereof, a concept that can be deeply explored from both a philosophical and psychological perspective.

In the context of weightlifting and beyond… the easier something is to load, the better?

Well, the great upside of having a loadable rack, a power rack, squat rack, power rack whatever is that if you elevate it off the ground, it is so much easier to just load your 45 pound plates to it?

I think 99.9% of the annoyance of having to dead lift is having to take it off the floor. We’re putting on the weights. I recommend everyone just to do a “rack pull” instead, or maybe we should just call it an elevated deadlift?

The privilege of weightlifting topless outside, outdoors, your own off the grid gym!

The only commercial gym that I found kind of interesting was the gold gym in Venice Beach, the huge outdoor area where you could just be topless, work out in the Dreon, and also there was some squat rack platforms outside. Although it was still covered by an awning.

The supreme, greatest gym of all time would be in the direct sun, where we could just work out topless. Even feeling the connection with my Texas power squat bar without a shirt on, feels more sublime.

Since then, Lucid Motors has listed on the stock market, but the PIF remains a significant shareholder. The ownership of Lucid Motors is distributed among various public shareholders, institutional investors, and the PIF, with the latter having a substantial influence due to its early and sizable investment.

  • Short Rivian?

OK a bad sign; I see a lot of the Rivian R1 T trucks being traded in at the local Toyota dealership in Culver City. This is a really bad sign because it means that is not a good car.

my brother-in-law and sister-in-law test drove one, and said it was horrible. Also, some insider information I know for an engineer he used to work at Rivian says that it sucks. That essentially anyone who drives a Rivian truck is a “wannabe“.

Let us consider, once the cyber truck comes out, Rivian might go close to zero.

As of January 3, 2024, Rivian Automotive, Inc.’s (RIVN) stock closed at $19.77. This was after opening the day at $20.53, with the stock fluctuating between a high of $20.53 and a low of $19.70 throughout the trading day oai_citation:1,Rivian Automotive, Inc. (RIVN) Stock Historical Prices & Data – Yahoo Finance. This follows a notable drop of 10% on the first trading day of 2024, after Rivian reported lower-than-expected vehicle deliveries for the fourth quarter of the previous year. The company delivered 13,972 vehicles, which was below market expectations and marked a 10% decrease from the third quarter. Despite producing 57,232 electric vehicles in 2023, exceeding their projections, the failure to meet delivery expectations for the quarter raised concerns among investors, particularly regarding demand for their high-priced vehicles, such as the R1T pickup trucks starting at $73,000 and R1S sport utility vehicles starting at $78,000 oai_citation:2,Rivian’s stock tumbles 10% as 4Q EV deliveries disappoint Wall Street .

  • Jewish people, anti-Semitism, is the red herring.

The real issue had to hand is mainland China? The Tencent group corporation.

it seems that the modern media consciousness, everyone is talking about how Jewish people are evil, control the globe and planet or whatever… But in fact, the only concerned America should have is not Jewish people or whatever, but mainland China, specifically the Tencent corporation.

    What does Tencent mean

    Teng— soaring, Xun — information/message.

Tencent, a major Chinese multinational conglomerate, gets its name from the combination of two Chinese words: “Téng” (è…¾) and “Xùn” (讯). “Téng” can be translated as “galloping” or “soaring,” which implies speed and agility, while “Xùn” means “information” or “message.” So, Tencent’s name can be seen as representing the rapid and dynamic flow of information.

This name choice reflects the company’s initial focus on instant messaging services, but over time, Tencent has grown into a giant in various fields like gaming, social media, entertainment, and fintech. The name symbolizes not just the rapid transmission of information, which is central to the digital age, but also the company’s ambition and its swift ascent to becoming one of the largest and most influential tech companies in the world.

  • AMERICA IS ANTI MAINLAND CHINA

    Some issues:

It seems that the big “bad guys“ are actually the big corporations like Apple, which produces iPhones in mainland China, Foxconn— and also maybe Amazon, which it seems that nowadays, 99% of the products come from mainland China.

Google… are they in mainland China? Not 100% sure, but it seems that certainly they want to be.

    The new oligarchs

Facebook, meta, Mark Zuckerberg I think also wants to penetrate and get into mainland China. Let us consider that Mark Zuckerberg‘s wife is Chinese American, and also Mark studied Mandarin.

Even a lot of silken Valley tech, Andresen Horowitz, a lot of people on the board of directors are either from mainland China, 1.5 generation Chinese, in between mainland China and America etc.

    Frenemies?

America is funny because on one hand, we are by far the strongest military on the planet, at least 1000 extra stronger than mainland China. What, I think we have at least 1000 military bases all around the world, in China only has one? Somewhere in Africa?

What China, mainland China has going for it is production. It seems the swap is this:

America says: Let us produce and manufacture all of these things and goods and consumers items in mainland China, we will let you pollute your own land, then we will import it and sell it in America, and we will enjoy your products, your cheap wages, and we will also enjoy our unpolluted environment.

    China goes:

OK sounds good. We don’t really care about the environment that much anyways, as long as some of us could get rich, and some of our people can also become richer.
