Why is it that Ivy League schools deify the ‘endowment’ more so than real human beings? Why is it that we as individuals prize our ‘savings’ more so than ourselves?

Not financial freedom. Rather, using the money to invest in yourself.
For example:
- Tools and equipment for yourself
- The right clothes for yourself (Merino Wool, Outlier.nyc).
- Your own platform (bluehost.com and WordPress.org). Or starting your own platform (arsbeta.com)
- Your own blog [self hosted, paid]
- Music, cinema, or other types of media (paid).
