Why Entrepreneurship?

The hunger and the overwhelming desire to see manifest in the world what you desire to see manifested in the world!

What DON’T you see in the world which you desire to see?

I think often in life, the best strategy can be this — a “via negativa” negative approach:

What do you NOT see in the world (yet) which you would like to see?

For example, I was highly dismayed by the lack of practical information on how to shoot street photography, then I started this blog!

And now that I think about it, all the big innovations which I have made has come from a self-desire and hunger — the desire to create my own ideal future.

Therefore the first definition of an entrepreneur — the visionary! Also, I see myself as the visionary behind arsbeta.com — the first “double blind” photography feedback platform.

To me, the ultimate feeling of empowerment is to create and share. A life without creation feels like a “learned helplessness”— a feeling of impotence — the feeling you cannot enact a change or impact in the world.

When we create, we feel richer, fuller, more powerful, and more certain of ourselves.

Life itself is the will to creation.

Entrepreneurship as fun, playful, but also risky

This is what I find interesting about entrepreneurship — to me, it isn’t supposed to be this self-pain afflicting thing. To me, entrepreneurship should be joyful, fun, daring, interesting, creative, and a bit risky. Kind of like a kid playing on the jungle gym — fun, but risky. Perhaps it is actually the risk and danger which makes the whole endeavor fun. I remember as a child growing up, playground equipment was far more dangerous and interesting and fun. Now all the American playgrounds suck — it is like playing a video game at -100 Uber-newbie level.
