So what a lot of these loser socialist Marxist don’t understand is actually… Ism is freedom capitalism is the path to freedom.
Coercion versus freedom
Only thing that you are “coerced†into paying for or doing as an American US citizen is paying taxes. Death and taxes; the only two certain things in life.
For myself, my personal thought is it is our duty to pay taxes. We cannot expect any benefits of being an American citizen without paying taxes, and dodging taxes etc.
In fact, I find people who dodged taxes to be a reprehensible bunch. Certainly there are certain ethical behaviors like being a self-employed sole proprietor, and to the best of your wisdom, in good faith, deducting stuff which are tax deductions from your annual tax report, the great upside is now with TurboTax, if you just link it with your credit cards and banking accounts, it does this seamlessly.
So certainly everyone has the rational behavior to the best of their knowledge to reduce taxes, in an ethical fashion. I think what is the only unethical thing is when you intentionally lie on your taxes.
Certainly immigrant mentality is to only use cash, to prevent any sort of debt to the US government. I think typically the immigrant mentality is that we suffered so much to get here, why should we pay a single dime to the US government, which have might also cause us direct or in direct harm?
For example, Vietnamese refugees etc.; I get it, America kind of directly or indirectly caused problems in Vietnam, chaos and war, death and famine, which caused a lot of Vietnamese people to willingly and also unwillingly flee to America for safety and a brighter future.
Anyways, I think the general idea I have is that what is the opposite of capitalism? Oppression tyranny, dictatorship, communism socialism, totalitarianism etc.
You have more choice than you think you got
After nomading around for over a decade, I think the big idea is that you have 1 trillion more options than you think you do.
For example, as a American US citizen, there is nobody holding a gun to your head forcing you to live wherever you do. You have the option of living elsewhere; in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam Laos, Mexico Mexico City etc., as long as you still pay taxes while you are abroad.
What people don’t understand or know; you could live like a king abroad in Southeast Asia, for a fraction of the cost of living in the states.
My general thought is the only reason why anyone should ever ever ever live in America, is if you have a non-negotiable job which requires you to literally be planted geospatial occasionally in the states. But if you have the option, earning US dollars and living elsewhere is the obvious economic leverage.
Fear, uncertainty, being non experienced
So my general idea and thought is that actually, maybe it is not fear which is holding people back but actually, lack of exposure and experience.
So for example, for many individuals who have never really traveled far or been on an international flight or somewhere, it is not that they are necessarily afraid of going or living abroad is that they don’t really have the knowledge the tools that accessibility, or maybe even very very practically and practically, they just literally have zero dollars in their checking or savings account to afford them a simple airfare, or time abroad.
Enter bitcoin. My very very simple strategy; if you live extremely frugally, while in the states, and just pour 90% of your income into bitcoin, or microstrategy stock, within four years, you should be able to retire.
Ways to access and gain more capital is simple; it is difficult to increase your income but it is very easy to reduce your expenses. Lose your car that you have a lease or a finance payment on, moving back with your parents, rent a room, split a room like college dorm style, unsubscribe from all of your subscription services. Stop buying anything, stop buying clothes, new clothes or old clothes, stop buying the new loser iPhone or iPhone Pro, essentially strip yourself down to the bare minimum, pure undiluted Spartan fashion.
Reduce reduce reduce reduce reduce
When in doubt reduce.
Reduction is sexy
I’ll give you some examples, what is the simplest way to become sexier? It is reducing your body fat percentage. Very very simply put that means abstaining from starches carbohydrates alcohol, dessert snacks whatever. It is very easy.
Also, lifestyle changes. Ditch your friends who like to smoke weed, drink alcohol go to the club, go to bars and pubs, etc. In fact one of the things I’m pretty proud of what I did was when I was in college, and I wanted to Maintain my six pack, I just stopped going to any sort of parties, because I knew that any sort of beer alcohol wine vodka whatever would cause me to accumulate and accrete body fat adipose tissue, and also, causes me to sleep poorly, does prevent preventing me from waking up early the next day to hit the gym before going to class.
Unethical behavior
This is my big idea; cutting people especially toxic people from your life, even if they are good people, whether friends family etc. is unethical. Why? Good old Christian duty says that we should always be loving kind respectful empathetic compassionate, and always help those in need.
Yet, there is no emphasis on putting yourself first, or making yourself an end into yourself.
For example, the ultimate virtue is self sacrifice for the sake of others in this abstract notion of “society“, and “humanity“. I think this is a poor decision because first, it is too abstract and makes no sense. Who or what is “society“? And who or what is “humanity
A very very simple idea is first prioritize yourself your kids your spouse, your direct family members, your 100% blood and your best friends but besides that, just let everyone else do their thing.
No opinion
100% or 0%.
I’m becoming more mercurial in my approach. I’m either 100% committed, or 0% committed.
What that means is become less opinionated about people who are not in your immediately nuclear family. Avoid distant relatives, cousins uncles aunts, family members on both sides of the spectrum, even friends, distant friends close friends people in between etc.
Also contrary to popular thought, I am more for the nuclear family. Nuclear family means you your wife, your kids, your mom your sister etc.
You cannot have more than two best friends?
Best friends, one man one woman. Nobody else.
100% focus
So one big thing that Thich Nhat Hanh talks about a lot, is the notion of concentration and focus. The general idea is that mindfulness and meditation is just doing 100% focused one thing at a time.
For example, when you’re walking just walk. When you’re eating just to eat. When you’re using the toilet keep your iPhone outside and just use the toilet. When you’re with your kid just be with your kid, turn off your phone completely and just lock it in the glove compartment of your car.
Also one interesting thing that discovered about money and wealth is that once you’re rich, there’s no longer a strong motivation or impetus to be a “productiveâ€, because you’re not chasing that thing no more. If anything, the benefit for being bitcoin rich is that you could just focus 100% of your time energy and focus, and presence with your kids!
The best present is your presence
To be a 100% present is the ultimate present.
A big thing is with my niece and nephew Amelia and Benjamin, I don’t think I’ve ever given them a present in their lives. But what I do do is that whenever I visit them, once again and lock the phone in the glove compartment of your car, just play with them! Wrestle with them, run around with them, cause a ruckus.
What do kids really want? The love attention and time of their parents! The focus of their parents!
Modern day society is anti-kids?
Also a big random thought; my thought about modern day society is that modern-day society is actually anti-kids. My personal thought is 99% of the consumers industry is geared towards not having kids, because kids are not that profitable.
I would surmise that kids only make 1% of the consumerist industry.
As a consequence, there is no notions of saving. American people do not save money.
Is it possible to have a thriving economy which does not focus on saving?
So I’m reading the principles of economies, by Saifedean, the more I read it the more I love it! It is super super interesting and fascinating.
The first big idea the idea that I am pondering about is the question; is it possible to have a thriving economy that is actually centered on saving and capital accumulation?
The reason why this is such a big idea is typically, the traditional mainstream thought about economics is that saving is actually a bad thing, and that in order to “stimulate†the economy, you gotta get people to spend more money!
For example during Covid, when everyone got the thousand dollar free stimulus checks, do people use it to pay off their debt, their credit card debt, pay rent, buy bitcoin, or did they use that money to buy some stupid rims for their cars, or buy another ugly Louis Vuitton handbag? Everybody spent it!
Now why is this such a bad thing? Because once again, giving people free money to stimulate an economy is that effective, in fact it is destructive!
My only critique about Donald Trump is when he gave away the free money, bad compromise.
What if you already have the best, the access to the best?
A random aside; we often bemoan how we don’t have access to the best, and we are always driving for some sort of better optimization. But what if actually currently right now, you had the best most supreme most desirable situation, wouldn’t that insight and knowledge be great?
Fake desires
And then a big thing is that I wonder if actually, one of the critical problems that we currently face is that we are being suckered by a lot of these fake desires.
What is a fake desire? Is when you smoke marijuana drink beer watch professional sports on television, and then you watch some sort of loser Range Rover advertisement. And then you kind of start to want to have the Range Rover because you have been exposed to it so many times?
The first simple thought is stop watching any sort of television sports, everyone is on steroids, Steph Curry, LeBron, your favorite basketball player is on steroids. Certainly on football.
Invest in things which are not dependent on advertising like bitcoin.
Power is beautiful
What is the ultimate beauty? Power!
To make yourself more beautiful, make yourself more powerful?
