Once you get a kid, you gain a new identity — not just you, but you and your kid (an ultra-ego).
For example, when I am playing with Seneca, I get into a flow state in which me and Seneca become one. I become his personal Gundam Mech (he walks with me, and uses my hands like steering wheel-joystick), or like my Pacific Rim Mech.
