How To Increase Your Value

To expand my notion on the philosophy of value, rather than striving to increase the value of our investments, isn’t it a better idea for us to strive to increase the value of ourselves? To increase the value of our own personal artwork, creation and ideas?

But how do we actually increase our value? Some thoughts:

  1. Expand your own network: for example, a blog becomes more and more valuable the more you publish, and the more you hyperlink your ideas to another. Also like one of my friends told me, “your net worth is your network.” In sociology we learned this as social capital, the capital wealth and power you have in your social networks, or in other words, how powerful the people you know are.
  2. Make, build, and publish new things. How does life grow? Based on the new. New children, new blood, new developments. Invest in creating the new.
  3. Consider how much you actually care: in order to create something, you must care about it so much, that you are willing to sacrifice much in order to build it. Once again, the goal is towards building, not buying and possessing.
