Direct

The less friction, the better. The more direct approach we take in life, the better.

In praise of digital photography

The upside of digital photography — more direct.

Shooting JPEG (you see what you get). Directly importing your photos to your computer. Direct upload to your website/blog.

Direct living

Direct living: not waiting for some unknown future before living your ideal life. Living your ideal life right now; today.

Direct publishing

Publishing directly to your own blog. Writing directly in the ‘new post’ editor in WordPress.org. The less kinks you have in your publishing pipeline, the better.

Direct philosophy

Asking yourself:

If I had a trillion dollars in the bank, how would I live my life?

Not waiting until you retire before living your life how you want. Living your life RIGHT NOW!

For myself, my direct way of living:

Focusing right now on thinking, writing, making artwork, and sharing/publishing it [on this blog].

Many of us are currently at point A and we desire to get to point B. But we think in order to get to point B, we need ‘financial independence’. But I consider ‘financial independence’ as a red herring. What I mean is this:

No matter how rich you are, you won’t become financially independent until you change your mindset to believe that money isn’t the end-game.

Which means — you become financially independent when you no longer really care for money. When money doesn’t become a metric of success.
