Perhaps we should strive to make beautiful things which we like to look at.

All art is good art

As long as you make something you like to look at, it is good art.

You are the only and the ultimate judge.

Dissatisfaction is good in art

My thought:

Dissatisfaction is good in art, as long as it empowers us.

I think dissatisfaction has two types:

1. The type of dissatisfaction which discourages you
2. The type of dissatisfaction which drives you upwards to the heights!

I call this “empowering dissatisfaction” — the dissatisfaction which motivates you and makes you stronger.

For example in photography, I always strive to make more beautiful photographs. And rather than letting the dissatisfaction discourage me, I let it empower me! I have been thinking a lot about beauty in photography — and in striving to constantly make more beautiful photos, this is what drives my artistic innovation.

Never stop striving to make more things which you consider beautiful, and also strive to make those art works even MORE BEAUTIFUL!
