3 Photography Philosophy Tips

Simple photographic philosophies to get you going:

1. Just shoot it

If you see something that even has a 1% chance of potentially being a good photo, just shoot it!

When you’re out shooting, just focus on shooting.

2. Better to over-shoot than under-shoot when you’re shooting.

When you’re out shooting, you will only witness the scene (exactly as you see it) once. Thus, best to ‘work the scene‘ (and shoot lots of photos of the scene), than to just take 1 or 2 and move on.

3. No genres in photography (shoot it all)

Don’t classify yourself as a photographer. Shoot anything and everything which interests you. Flowers, nature, street, landscape, macro— whatever! It is all good!

By refusing to stick to a narrow genre in photography, you will never run out of inspiration or motivation to shoot new photos!
