For Street Photographers On-The-Go: Review of the Chrome Niko Camera Sling and Camera Pack

Chrome is trying so hard to appeal to street photographers and in my opinion they are failing so hard too. I’d like to remain positive, but I can’t with them. They had quite a joke of a street photographer submission contest, and look at the bags they are targeting for street photographers. They are not practical at all. I feel as if they did absolutely no research into a street photographer’s needs and they just started slapping names on sub-par products. I don’t know about others, but I see this as a clear marketing ploy that has been poorly executed with poor products.

I have the Chrome Niko Messenger, their original camera sling bag. I’m also a cyclist that happens to photograph from time to time. I can honestly say that while the bag isn’t perfect, it’s definitely a step in the right direction for someone who is often on the bike with a camera. I do feel that Chrome’s new bags need a bit more refinement to be perfect but their not that far off. To say that their bags are completely missing the target is wrong. Their bags are bomb proof. If you’re not on the bike with your camera maybe these bags aren’t for you OR you should be on a bike more . Whatever the case, I am excited to see the 2nd generation of Niko camera bags that Chrome will eventually release based on the feed back their getting from photographers outside the cycling community.
