Copyright: Alec Soth \/ Magnum Photos<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The DCCP is proud to co-present a screening of the documentary, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/23007373\">Somewhere to Disappear<\/a>&#8221; by Laure Flammarion and Arnaud Uyttenhoye. The film follows photographer Alec Soth as he works on his project, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/alecsoth.com\/photography\/projects\/broken-manual\/\">Broken Manual<\/a>.&#8221; Prior to the screening there will be a lecture by Soth on his work and prior exhibitions.<\/p>\n<p>October 25th, 2012 at the DFT (Detroit Film Theater).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The lecture and film start at 7:00 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Minneapolis-based photographer Alec Soth will present a lecture on his photographic work, exhibitions and publications from the last 15 years. The lecture will be followed by a screening of the documentary film Somewhere to Disappear by Laure Flammarion and Arnaud Uyttenhoye with Alec Soth.<\/p>\n<p>The program is presented by the Forum for Prints, Drawings and Photographs (FPDP) and the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography (DCCP). The lecture is sponsored by Amerisure. Some live in mountain cabins, some in caves, others in the desert. It is through Alec\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s eyes that we try to understand why those modern hermits want to escape.
