autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>When in doubt, be generous.<\/li>\n<li>To live a better life, live a simpler life.<\/li>\n<li>There isn&#8217;t one ultimate &#8220;truth&#8221; in life, but many &#8220;truth(s)&#8221; to discover.<\/li>\n<li>True beauty can be found in the ordinary and mundane moments of our everyday lives.<\/li>\n<li>The purpose of human life is to make art that <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/22\/photography-empowerment-manual\/\">empowers<\/a> yourself and others.<\/li>\n<li>The more I produce and create, the happier I am.<\/li>\n<li>Happiest isn&#8217;t the feeling of pleasure; rather, happiness is &#8220;human flourishing&#8221; &#8212; creative and innovative flourishing.<\/li>\n<li>The older and wiser I become, the more unsure I become of my own life philosophies, and the more I question and challenge my beliefs.<\/li>\n<li>The point isn&#8217;t to live a &#8216;minimalist&#8217; life, but a simple life.<\/li>\n<li>It is better to listen to your gut instinct and fail, than to betray your own inner-voice and succeed.<\/li>\n<li>If angry, wait at least 24 hours before expressing your anger. 99% of the time you either forget what you were angry about, or you discovered it was something small and petty.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/09\/introduction-to-stoicism\/\">Stoicism<\/a>: The ultimate philosophical tool to become indifferent to pain, suffering, and hardship in life&#8211; and to build strength to encounter the difficult times in life, in order to become stronger.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/31\/the-zen-of-eric\/\">Zen<\/a>: Subtracting distractions and superfluous pleasures, in order to focus on what is truly meaningful to you in life.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/street-photography-101\/\">Street photography<\/a>: The best way to overcome social anxiety and to <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/01\/interact-with-your-subjects\/\">interact with strangers<\/a>, find <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/25\/beauty-in-the-mundane\/\">beauty in the mundane<\/a>, and partake in &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/15\/walking-meditation-in-street-photography\/\">walking meditation<\/a>&#8216;.<\/li>\n<li>Photography&#8217;s main useful aspect: To create art which empowers yourself, and to also <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/22\/photography-is-mental-therapy\/\">use photography as self-therapy<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The more you give, the more you will receive in return.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/27\/purpose\/\">Purpose<\/a> will always triumph over &#8220;passion&#8221; in life.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/17\/scars\/\">SCARS<\/a>: What doesn&#8217;t kill you will make you stronger (<a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/07\/66-life-lessons-from-friedrich-nietzsche\/\">Nietzsche<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/01\/why-compassion-can-change-the-world\/\">Compassion Can Change the World<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Set &#8216;moonshot&#8217; goals for yourself everyday, and you will achieve <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/11\/21\/10x-thinking\/\">10x more<\/a> than you think you&#8217;re capable of.<\/li>\n<li>Generalized knowledge and erudition over a broad domain will always triumph over specialized knowledge in the long-run (<a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/11\/17\/the-t-technique-of-success\/\">T-technique of success<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>There is nothing sweeter in the world than the love of your partner, family, and friends.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/20\/dont-define-yourself\/\">define<\/a> yourself: allow your <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/23\/retain-your-childlike-naivete\/\">inner-child<\/a> to explore, play, and follow your curiosities in life.<\/li>\n<li>There is no such thing as &#8216;good&#8217; or &#8216;bad&#8217; art, only &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/10\/12\/how-to-be-authentic\/\">authentic<\/a>&#8216; and &#8216;inauthentic&#8217; art.<\/li>\n<li>The philosopher will never stop searching for knowledge, beauty, and truth&#8211; and seek to share these secrets with others.<\/li>\n<li>The secret of <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/11\/how-to-focus\/\">focusing<\/a>: subtract <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/04\/no-fear-no-distractions\/\">distractions<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Only define success for yourself: For myself, true <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/12\/how-do-you-define-success\/\">success<\/a> is being proud of your effort, work, personal accomplishments, and always striving to do more and better.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t just fight to survive; <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/24\/thrive-or-die\/\">thrive<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>To gain more control of your own life and freedom, become an <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/photography-entrepreneurship-101\/\">entrepreneur<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/14\/how-to-hustle-hard\/\">Hustle hard<\/a> for the sake of the human race: present, and future. Don&#8217;t worry too much about yourself; your basic needs will always be covered.
