Gratitude in photography<\/h2>\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been reviewing my old pictures and been having a lot of fun.<\/p>\n

For me, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s appreciation of how far I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve come, and how I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m changing and evolving as a photographer.<\/p>\n

How have I evolved as a photographer?<\/h2>\n

For example in the beginning of my photographic pursuits, I was all about \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the decisive moment\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00e2\u20ac\u201dshooting in the spirit of Henri Cartier-Bresson<\/a>, then shooting with a flash<\/a> like Bruce Gilden<\/a>, and now, I see myself shooting more childlike abstract photos, in the spirit of Matisse<\/a> or Rene Magritte.<\/p>\n

I feel the problem in modern life is that we have too much action, no reflection.<\/p>\n

What is happiness?<\/h2>\n

For example, I think happiness in life is:<\/p>\n

  1. Achievement <\/li>\n
  2. Appreciation <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To achieve is to satisfy some inner desire. Then appreciation is feeling gratitude and a sense of progress.<\/p>\n

    So looking at my old photos, I feel immense gratitude for the past teachers I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve had, and the past experiences I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve had. But also, it is a reminder to make NEW photos, and to gain NEW experiences \u00e2\u20ac\u201dfor me to keep evolving, experimentation, and learning.<\/p>\n

    Feel gratitude for the past<\/h2>\n

    I think in life, we often spend too much time living in the past, with nostalgia, and sadness or regret.<\/p>\n

    My suggestion:<\/p>\n

    \n Smile at the past, and be grateful \u00e2\u20ac\u201d both for the good and the bad.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
