But the goal isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t to die with the most commas and zeroes in my bank account.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Growth, evolution, progress<\/strong>: To be constantly growing as a visual artist. To find new sources of inspiration through visual \u00e2\u20ac\u0153cross pollination\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00e2\u20ac\u201d and never being satisfied with my art. To stay hungry and foolish, and to keep hustling. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Meaningful work that empowers viewer and society<\/strong>: Visual art that is beyond myself \u00e2\u20ac\u201d that will help inspire others to love living, and feel more optimism towards life. To feel joy through looking at my images.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Legacy to help future photographers<\/strong>: Creating a new culture of experimentation, fearlessness, and openness. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Therefor your first step is to simply write out how you define \u00e2\u20ac\u0153success\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for yourself. Whenever I make new pictures, I think of challenging myself by making more difficult pictures. To me, a difficult picture is a picture which is scary for me to shoot (in street photography), or difficult in terms of making a dynamic yet simple composition. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Publish 80% \u00e2\u20ac\u0153good enough\u00e2\u20ac\u009d work<\/strong>: There is no such thing as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153perfection\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. As visual artists, we are constantly in a state of flux, and constantly in a state of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153becoming.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Therefore, if you let your inner-critic, or this silly notion of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153perfectionism\u00e2\u20ac\u009d hold you back, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll never publish anything. Treat your visual art as an experimental laboratory \u00e2\u20ac\u201d keep making visual experiments with your pictures, publish, and keep evolving. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Have fun<\/strong>: The ultimate photographer and visual artist is like a child, with a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153child\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mind\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00e2\u20ac\u201d a spirit of exploration, play, and fun. Embrace child\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mind by not letting \u00e2\u20ac\u0153rules\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and boundaries hold you back. Rather, let your natural curiosity drive you forward, to accelerate your growth and learning process. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Try these out for yourself, and empower yourself.
