1. Possible theories<\/h2>\n

You feel guilty shooting street photography because you<\/em> don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like being photographed, because you are uncomfortable with your body or facial image, and you (wrongly) assume everyone else doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like being photographed. Solution: make self portraits of yourself, and learn how to be comfortable being photographed.<\/li>\n
  2. You were raised with \u00e2\u20ac\u0153modest\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Puritan-Christian \u00e2\u20ac\u0153humble\u00e2\u20ac\u009d virtues which tells you NOT to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153bother\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153disrupt\u00e2\u20ac\u009d others. Solution: DO NOT APOLOGIZE for making pictures of others. You aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t doing anything wrong. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re making beautiful art.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The more I think about photography, art, and life… so much of our morals, ethics, and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153values\u00e2\u20ac\u009d are super-imposed on us by our parents, our society, our culture, our friends, bosses, jobs, etc. we rarely have the chance to question<\/em> ourselves, and ask ourselves…<\/p>\n

    3. How I shoot street photography<\/h2>\n

    In street photography, I am aggressive, unapologetic, yet friendly and I smile a lot.<\/p>\n

    I know I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not doing anything wrong, both ethically and<\/em> legally.<\/p>\n

    Ethically, taking a picture of someone isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t a big deal. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m just photographing the photons or the light bouncing off their body… I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not \u00e2\u20ac\u0153stealing their soul\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or something silly like that.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Legally, I have the right to photograph anyone or anything in a public space.<\/p>\n

    4. Shoot street photography with love<\/h2>\n

    \"Two<\/a><\/p>\n

    To take this further, your picture-making aint<\/em> an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153attack\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153assault\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. Your camera is NOT a gun which shoots bullets and assaults your subjects. NO!<\/p>\n

    A camera just captures light. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re just capturing light. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not doing any positive harm on anybody or anything. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re reactive… you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re accepting<\/em> the light that is already<\/em> around you. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re actually more passive in that sense\u00e2\u20ac\u201d you have openness, and the light of the world enters your lens, and enters your soul and consciousness.<\/p>\n

    5. Have confidence in yourself, that you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re doing the right thing.<\/h2>\n

    To sum up, the best way to evolve as a photographer and artist… don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t apologize.<\/strong> Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t apologize for making pictures. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153explain\u00e2\u20ac\u009d yourself to anybody.<\/p>\n
