I\u2019ve always been into cars since I was a kid, fast and the furious days, working on my car, modifying it, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The last time the car truly impressed me was the cyber truck, in terms of totally disrupting design, materials with the stainless steel\u2026 In the fact that it is essentially is the only thing that came out of like science fiction that was actually made into a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I first was on the Tesla site, and I saw it\u2026 And I saw it do the barrel roll, kick flip, and seeing the cold thruster\u2026 My mind was truly blown. Even more blown after, I saw it do the whole thing, without even having a ramp. Also, the reverse suction thing, also blew my mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No Bugatti or any other hyper car could match this. It\u2019s cross pollinating SpaceX spaceship technology into a car. This is ultra insanely awesome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m not even sure who had the creativity to put cold thrusters on the back of an electric car, or even the extreme creativity about having the reverse suction things, to help with downforce and grip with the floor\u2026 There\u2019s at least like 10 great innovations that went into the thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It essentially disrupts everything we know about everything. What a car can and should be\u2026 And essentially, defying physics, and also seemingly defying first principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From a physics perspective, simply everything worked out, but\u2026 Can you imagine somebody saying that they could build this type of car, they would think that you were on crack. And what\u2019s really interesting about these huge paradigm shifts\u2026 It seems insane until somebody actually does it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elon Musk may be the most ambitious and interesting human being alive\u2026 Because, him crossing domains. Going from Internet entrepreneur into electric car guy, into space, guy\u2026 Etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I recently volunteered at the polls, and I was actually really shocked that it seems that my skills from street photography were excellent in crossing over to talking to voters, helping the whole political thing. Moving forward, I\u2019m even thinking about doing more political stuff, because I think my personal personality is great for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perhaps the greatest joy in life is feeling like you\u2019re not constrained by anything. Like, I\u2019m interested in passionate about like 1 million things. And my pleasure is being able to indulge all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For example, weightlifting, fitness physiology, capital, philosophy, engineering, etc. And maybe now politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unrelated, my in-laws just got a new Tesla model Y base edition, with auto pilot. Surprisingly I think the design is quite close to perfect, from the outside\u2026 But the biggest shocker was, being inside of it\u2026 Surprisingly did not feel that much different from a Prius?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The self driving technology is truly a game changer. Assuming you need to drive or commute for a living\u2026 There\u2019s almost no reason not to get a Tesla with full self driving. Even my brother-in-law, John Narcisco says, at this point, the new categorization is whether the car is FSD or not FSD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Never buy a \u201csports sedan\u201d, it is the ultimate bad compromise. Either have a Prius as your daily and a Lamborghini on the side, or now a new roadster\u2026 rather than having one vehicle try to do it all. Even though I love cyber truck, unless I work at Home Depot for a living, and need the truck trunk all the time\u2026 There seems to be no good reason to have one as a daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is also the truth about photography, better to have a Ricoh GR camera as your main, and whatever iPhone on the side\u2026 Rather than having your iPhone, be your primary camera. Why? It doesn\u2019t matter if you have the iPhone 50\u2026 The technology ergonomics sensor will never be as good as a Ricoh GR camera. Also, perhaps now\u2026 I think the purpose of a phone should be more of AI device, or just Google Maps and FaceTime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working the polls was rough, but I learned a lot. The biggest one is\u2026 I haven\u2019t since I was like 21 years old, and I\u2019m 38 now. That\u2019s like 17 years\u2026 I have never worked on an arbitrary time schedule for almost 4 days in a row. The hours were long, 9 AM to 8 PM three days in a row\u2026 And then election day, 6 AM to essentially midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doing the work was meaningful, but, at about 2:30 PM I was kinda over it\u2026 Ready to go home go to Seneca, make dinner, take a shower and go to sleep. The most glorious thing is having Seneca maintain a 6:30 PM bedtime, and me and Cindy falling asleep at around 7:30 PM, and waking up at around like 7:30 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m still quite convinced, it\u2019s better to sleep 12 hours a night, and work for one hour a day in a very interesting way, rather than sacrifice your sleep and grind for a long arbitrary workday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think all truly great entrepreneurs essentially take a vow of poverty. I think the idea of pursuing entrepreneurship to get rich is the wrong path, I think instead, the better motivation is pursuing some extreme curiosity that you have, and having the freedom to pursue it without any arbitrary time constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think the right mentality is at any moment, be willing \ufffcto lose it all, perhaps this is stoic idea that is good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whenever you invest money and stuff, perhaps it should be for the sake of creation and innovation. This is the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
