Photography zen

Can you shoot today, tomorrow, again and again?

Can you stay productive as an artist your entire life, my friend?

Make your lifestyle so that you can creatively flourish

Visually feed your eyes, keep them nourished

Look at great art, and masters of the past

Study art that is powerful, moving, and will last

What kind of art do you admire?

What kind of art elevates your soul higher?

What kind of pictures do you like to make?

What kind of pictures do you hate?

Avoid making pictures which bore you

Make pictures which are fun

Be like a kid with a Polaroid camera gun

Burn through your film

Be blessed that you got digital photography; it costs you nil.

Shoot freely, without a care

To get close in Street Photography avert eye contact; don’t stare.

Above all, don’t care what others think of you and your art

Just make art that is a part of your soul and mind

Make visual rhythm; make it chime

And everyday, hit rewind; start afresh.

Shoot today,

Stare into the green eyes of death.

BE STRONG,
