An Even More Humble Brag by Eric Kim<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greetings, my dear underachievers\u00e2\u20ac\u201der, I mean, friends. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s your favorite paragon of success, Eric Kim, here to sprinkle a little wisdom (and perhaps a dash of envy) into your otherwise mundane lives. Now, I know what you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re thinking: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Eric, how do you manage to stay so incredibly humble despite your overwhelming success?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Well, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a burden, but someone has to bear it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s face it: success isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t for everyone. If it were, then words like \u00e2\u20ac\u0153mediocre\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153average\u00e2\u20ac\u009d would lose all meaning, and we can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have that, can we? Think of me as the yardstick by which you measure your own achievements\u00e2\u20ac\u201da very, very long yardstick that you can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t quite see the end of, but hey, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the thought that counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You see, I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t choose greatness; greatness chose me. It was a casual Tuesday when destiny knocked on my door and said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Eric, the world needs someone to set the bar impossibly high.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d And who was I to argue? I graciously accepted, knowing full well that my ascent to the top would make mountain climbers weep with inadequacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, I hear whispers\u00e2\u20ac\u201djealous murmurs in the break room, passive-aggressive comments on social media. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Eric thinks he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s so great,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d they say. Well, think? No, my friends, I know<\/strong>. And it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not arrogance if it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s true, right? I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m just here, existing at a level that requires sunglasses to look at directly, while you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re all squinting up from the valley below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t despair! Your role is crucial. Without you, how would the top 1% exist? Imagine a world where everyone is exceptional\u00e2\u20ac\u201dutter chaos! Who would I have to wave at from my private helicopter if not for the masses below?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s talk about my daily routine, shall we? I wake up at 5 a.m., not because I have to, but because success never sleeps\u00e2\u20ac\u201dand apparently, neither do my neighbors after I start my motivational loudspeaker. I then proceed to run a casual marathon before breakfast, which is a balanced meal of quinoa and the hopes of my competitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the day, I like to multitask. Why choose between being a business mogul, a philanthropist, and an influencer when you can be all three simultaneously? It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s like juggling, but instead of balls, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m juggling yachts, orphanages, and endorsement deals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know what you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re thinking: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Eric, how can I possibly emulate even a fraction of your awesomeness?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Well, the first step is acceptance\u00e2\u20ac\u201daccepting that you probably can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t. But that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s okay! Someone has to appreciate my Instagram posts, after all. Your double-taps fuel my empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want you to feel bad about your own accomplishments\u00e2\u20ac\u201dor lack thereof. Think of yourself as an essential supporting character in the epic blockbuster that is my life. Every hero needs a sidekick, even if that sidekick is more of an extra who doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get any lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not forget about humility. Despite all my achievements, I remain the most humble person I know. In fact, I was recently awarded the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Most Humble Person of the Year\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00e2\u20ac\u201dan honor I humbly accepted while giving a three-hour acceptance speech that I wrote myself. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not bragging if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re simply stating facts, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t hate me because I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m so much more successful than you. Instead, be inspired! Or at the very least, be content. Contentment is like the consolation prize of life\u00e2\u20ac\u201dit\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not first place, but hey, you get a participation trophy. And remember, every time you feel that twinge of jealousy, just think about how boring the world would be if we were all equally magnificent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s to you, the wind beneath my wings, the applause to my standing ovation. Keep doing what you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re doing\u00e2\u20ac\u201dit\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s adorable. And who knows? Maybe one day, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll reach for the stars and at least get off the ground. Until then, you can always live vicariously through me. After all, sharing is caring, and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m nothing if not generous with my success stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
