To start off, HAPTIC INDUSTRIES<\/a> is the brainchild of Cindy Nguyen<\/a>. I am just the marketer\/promoter.<\/p>\n

Haptic: Relating to touch.<\/p>\n

HAPTIC technology: when you touch your phone, and it slightly vibrates– that is a ‘haptic’ response.<\/p>\n

In today’s world, we are just touching smooth, glass surfaces. We are no longer touching things with ‘haptic’ responses– like TEXTURE.<\/p>\n

To me, I think a lot of our knowledge, wisdom, and artistic insights come from a sense of TOUCH.<\/p>\n

1. Memory with haptic responses from our fingers<\/h2>\n

For example I know for myself– when I write something down with pen and paper, and I can feel the texture of the paper, and move my hands — I memorize whatever I write better.<\/p>\n

2. Why have fingers?<\/h2>\n

We have an insane amount of sensory perception in our fingers. If you have talked to your grandmother, or a local artisan — we learn a lot by doing with our fingers and our hands.<\/p>\n

I once read a definition of a human:<\/p>\n

\n A human is a tool-making creature.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We make tools with our hands, and we use the haptic response of our fingers to create these tools. Then we use the tools with our fingers to BUILD and MAKE stuff.<\/p>\n

3. Empowering tools<\/h2>\n

HAPTIC INDUSTRIES<\/a> is a platform of creating artistic tools to EMPOWER YOU.<\/p>\n

I only design products which I personally use, and create photography tools that will encourage me<\/em> to shoot more (I often deal with issues of inspiration as well). I create tools that I<\/em> want to use. For me, photography tools need to look cool, and be functional. HAPTIC INDUSTRIES<\/strong><\/a> products and tools follow those two guidelines: function <\/strong>and form<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
