What is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Meaningful Differentiation\u00e2\u20ac\u009d?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Meaningful: The work and ideas you have just be meaningful. <\/li>\n<li>Differentiation: You must be different from others. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>First of all, you are <em>already<\/em> different from others.<\/p>\n<p>My suggestion: let your \u00e2\u20ac\u0153differentness\u00e2\u20ac\u009d shine.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be ashamed of how you are different. Rather, proudly show how you are different.<\/p>\n<h2>Two. Proudly show your black feathers<\/h2>\n<p>You are weird. You are the square peg that doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fit in the circular hole.<\/p>\n<p>You are an innovator (maker of new things) because you think differently from the crowd. You are not one of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153sheeple\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (sheep people). You are the black swan amongst the white swans.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t hide the fact that you look different. If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re a black swan, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t try to bleach your feathers white. Rather, show off your radiant midnight-black feathers, and make it cool.<\/p>\n<h2>Three. How can you help others?<\/h2>\n<p>To show your work is meaningful, figure out how you can help or benefit others.<\/p>\n<p>For example, when I write street photography articles, I try to dispel myths, and give practical assignments (see STREET NOTES).<\/p>\n<p>My job as a teacher is for me to be a filter. To take all this information on the internet, and simplify it. And to make the information practical. To take ideas, to transform it into \u00e2\u20ac\u0153actionable\u00e2\u20ac\u009d concepts.<\/p>\n<p>Ways you can be useful in today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s economy:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Simplify: Take complicated ideas, and break it down for others, in simpler, bite-sized bits. Digest ideas and make it more nourishing and palatable to people. For example, I turned \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Learn from the masters\u00e2\u20ac\u009d into a practical resource, because I made \u00e2\u20ac\u0153tips\u00e2\u20ac\u009d from the master photographers, based on complicated photography theory. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m interested in turning theory into practice.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate self-development. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153teacher.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153facilitator\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. You already have all the knowledge in your head. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re a seed, and you have the potential to turn into a great redwood tree. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m just a gardener, who helps <em>guide<\/em> your growth. I prune your leaves, kill the surrounding weeds, and build supports for your branches. I keep away pests, predators, and parasites to help you grow. The same for you, help others <em>facilitate<\/em> their own self-learning. <\/li>\n<li>Inspire: Most photography blogs are sources of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153inspiration.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Present old ideas and remix them to make them more interesting in modern times. This is what hip hop producers do, they \u00e2\u20ac\u0153sample\u00e2\u20ac\u009d old school vintage music, and mix it with contemporary sounds, and make something new. So to be valuable in today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s world, publish things that <strong>inspire others into action.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Four. Teach Yourself<\/h2>\n<p>Obviously we are all different. What works for you won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t work for me and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>But there are some folks out there who are <em>similar<\/em> to you.<\/p>\n<p>My suggestion:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  Find solutions that work for you, and devote your life trying to share those remedies with others.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re a doctor and you found the cure for CANCER, you have an ethical duty to share that cure with humanity. But maybe this cancer cure only works for 1% of the population. But still, you should <strong>share<\/strong> this information.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, seek a solution that works for you, and share this self-knowledge with others.<\/p>\n<p>For myself, I like to publish because even if it helps 1 other human being, the effort is worth it.<\/p>\n<h2>Five. Marketing is planting seeds<\/h2>\n<p>Marketing: spread your seeds widely, and a few seeds might take root.<\/p>\n<p>In English:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  Spread your message wide and far, and it might help 1% of the population.
