Dear friend,<\/p>\n

If you are pursuing your life\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s passion \u00e2\u20ac\u201d you will always find someone to hate you for it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. What is a hater?<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A hater is someone who likes to spew poison onto others. A hater is someone who drinks poison and wishes that the other person dies.<\/p>\n

A hater is a sad soul. A hater is a small person. A hater is someone who hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t achieved his fullest potential in life\u00e2\u20ac\u201d and therefore feels pain when he sees other people pursuing their personal maximum in life.<\/p>\n

A hater is someone we should pity \u00e2\u20ac\u201d like a poor puppy. Or when necessary, a hater is someone we should just ignore.<\/p>\n

2. Greatness of soul is ignoring others<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Let me tell you a story of Cato (the Stoic saint).<\/p>\n

He was in a Roman forum, and some man spat on his face. Cato pretended he didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even notice. He wiped away the spit, and moved on.<\/p>\n

Someone then asked Cato: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153CATO! Aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t you going to punish that man for spitting on you?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Cato then (magnanimously) says, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcI don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t remember being spit on.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n

Cato showed greatness of soul in not even acknowledging<\/em> being spat upon. He didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcforgive\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 the person. Because you cannot \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcforgive\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 someone if you ignore small trifles.<\/p>\n

So now, for me \u00e2\u20ac\u201d I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcforgive\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 people. Because I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even notice them. For me, a hater is someone not even worth a single iota or .0000001% of your attention. If someone is hating on you, you can use your mental energy for better things\u00e2\u20ac\u201d making more art<\/a>, thinking, writing, and sharing love with others.<\/p>\n

3. Ignore your haters<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

So friend the sum of my letter to you is this: just ignore your haters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That means, if you upload a photo or a blog post or publish any piece of art\u00e2\u20ac\u201d just don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t read the comments. Because why do you care whether others like your work or not? If you like your own work\u00e2\u20ac\u201d isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t that enough for you?<\/em><\/p>\n

If you read comments, it means that you care too much whether others like you (or hate you). If you really didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t care what others thought of you (whether positive or negative) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d you wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t read comments.<\/p>\n

4. Why do you care what others think of your photography or art?<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Never crowd-source your self esteem<\/a>. Have faith in yourself friend, stay true to your inner artistic vision, and when it comes to art, just treat it like playing\u00e2\u20ac\u201d be a big ass kid with a camera, or a paintbrush.<\/p>\n

Photography is playing<\/a>.<\/p>\n
