Honestly speaking, there are no measures of what is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153good\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153bad\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 art. Art is a social and sociological phenomenon in which notions of good and successful are predicated on the confidence in the marketing ability of the author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example the genius of <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2016\/10\/11\/10-lessons-pablo-picasso-can-teach-you\/?amp=1\">Picasso<\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u201d his genius <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/23\/self-marketing\/\">self marketing<\/a> ability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No objective good or bad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A huge thing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no such thing as &#8216;good&#8217; or &#8216;bad&#8217; art.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honestly, all &#8216;successful&#8217; art work is predicated on some sort of sociological phenomenon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you become &#8216;successful&#8217; or not is based on how well you can sell yourself, a bit of randomness and chance, your audacity and <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2022\/12\/08\/chutzpah-vlog\/\">chutzpah<\/a>, and also, how well connected you are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your network is your net worth (via some random UC Berkeley Undergraduate student, told by my friend Peter Phan)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why boost your creative confidence?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honestly, it seems that in order to creatively innovate, you must have a stubborn creative vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/steve-jobs\/\">Steve Jobs<\/a>&#8212; the only reason he was able to make Apple so phenomenally great is because of how stubborn he was. But now, after he died and Jony Ive left, Apple has lost her creative way. Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple no longer has a stubborn creative\/design vision. Rather, she only cares to maximize profits and share-holder value.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lesson:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Become insanely stubborn in regards to your creative vision.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You don&#8217;t need approval<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/arsbeta.com\">Ars Beta<\/a> is a great place to get honest feedback on your photos and art work, yet ultimately, what you gotta care for is this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do <em>YOU<\/em> think about your own art work?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First step:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like your own art work.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the second step:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Share that art work (in which you like yourself) with others.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What holds us back?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Social media. The reason why I am <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/05\/09\/ars-anti-social-social-media-for-photographers\/\">anti social media<\/a> is because it &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/dont-crowd-source-your-self-esteem\/\">crowd sources<\/a>&#8216; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ftt2JlmvllA\">externalizes your self esteem<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">True art work is not predicated on the value of dollars, followers, likes or comments. The true measure of worth in art:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How long will it and the legacy and memory of you last?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best way as an artist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Become an <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/17\/anti-social-extrovert\/\">anti social extrovert<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to care less<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I used to give a fuck, now I give a fuck less, what do I care about success, sucks, too much stress.&#8221; &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/jay-z\/\">JAY Z<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After having gone viral (several times) etc, ultimately the takeaway:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn&#8217;t really matter that much.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, after <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/02\/what-i-learned-after-earning-250000-usd-in-the-cryptocurrency-market\/\">making $250,000 in crypto<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn&#8217;t matter that much.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What is more important and critical?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your own personal creative thriving and blossoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New creative directions for yourself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Create your own gallery, your own creative online calorie, via your website. bluehost.com and install wordpress.org. The future of artwork is digital, online, exhibit and publish and future your own work in your own self online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simple thoughts include designing a website which your artwork and your photos can be featured as full resolution JPEG images, full screen, the full width of the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Produce yourself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something I have learned about the entertainment business, Hollywood, LA, etc.:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The real people who have power are the ones who are the producers.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not the actors, not even the directors. The producers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is very interesting, because producers are smart, they are extremely low-key, and nobody knows who they are. But, this is their strength and privilege. Producers are intelligent enough to know that widespread fame is actually a bad thing; for example, if you were Brad Pitt, you can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just walk around the block, or go to the gym and work out, without being harassed. Funny thought\u00e2\u20ac\u201d could Brad Pitt just go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equinox.com\">equinox<\/a> and work out, without attracting insane amount of attention?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even myself, even though in someways I am an attention whore, I also like my privacy and being able to stay low-key. For example when I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m weightlifting at the gym, when I have too much attention drawn to me it actually disrupts my focus in a bad way. Apparently I went viral a few times when I was doing my atlas lift over seven plates. And now whenever I go to the gym, everyone stares at me and all, I kind of like it, but I also kind of don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even more recently, housesitting for a friend in Santa Monica, the last two weeks, I have been frequenting the golds gym in Venice Beach. Recently I attracted a lot of attention being able to <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/23\/775-pound-atlas-lift-squat-hold-8-plates-5-pounder-golds-gym-venice-no-belt-knee-straps-no-bs\/\">atlas lift over eight plates<\/a>, even this regular powerlifter at the gym who could easily deadlift over seven plates off the floor asked me with curiosity, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153If you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t mind me asking, what was the purpose of you lifting eight plates?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d My thought:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to become stronger.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attention is fun and glamorized but if it gets in the way of your focus, it is bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why do you make photos?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/why\/\">Why<\/a> do you make photos? Also, as a fun pro tip&#8211; ask them for their first and last name. There is no sweeter sound in the world than <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/11\/use-your-first-and-last-name\/\">your own first and last name<\/a>. Use <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/10\/why-you-should-promote-your-own-name\/\">your own first and last name<\/a> as <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2022\/11\/12\/how-to-build-your-own-self-brand\/\">your own self branding<\/a> mark!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creativity exercises<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I talked with a guy at the Philz Coffee shop today, and he told me something amazing that South Park is able to produce a single show in only six days! This is impressive because a typical animation studio will take 6 to 9 months for a single episode! Therefore the simple take away is when it comes to your artwork, make it quickly, iterate quickly, and publish and promote it quickly and iteratively. Applied to your photography and art, just shoot extra small JPEG, and simply share and publish your things online to your own website, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think about it too much or over analyze it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download Procreate on your iPhone or iPad, and start sketching your own images. Thinking online, google, Google images, making your artwork easily accessible, indexable by Google, and hopefully living forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of my personal challenges being a website domain host is keeping an archive of my images on the Internet, which lasts. A big issue with a lot of things digital is that there is no longevity. Most websites come and go, and I think 80% of the links on the Internet are now broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think longevity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do you want to be remembered, and if so, how long?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our best friend <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/nietzsche\/?amp=1\">Friedrich Nietzsche<\/a> once said that the number one good on earth is longevity and durability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personal question you must ask yourself is whether you care to be remembered or not. For us car guys, once we have killed the notion of even desiring a Lamborghini, or thinking that it is impressive, then what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently speaking, the car I am most fascinated by is either the <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/12\/genesis-g90-review-its-lit\/?amp=1\">Hyundai genesis G90, the Rolls-Royce killer<\/a>, or even a matte black Hyundai sonata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think currently speaking, the most impressive cars, and car designs are all coming out of Hyundai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Random Fitness stuff on my mind<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apparently I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been going viral a lot, even at golds gym fitness for lifting the <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/12\/the-legendary-golden-330-pound-dumbbells-at-golds-gym-venice-eric-kim-epic-strength\/?amp=1\">legendary 330 pound dumbbells<\/a>. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been very interested in strongman styled weightlifting, and strength building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other ideas which I am interested in include the farmers carry, atlas stones, lifting and throwing heavy rocks, suitcase walk, etc. Anything that has to do with lifting up heavy weights, standing, or walking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EK FIT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you cannot tell, diet health and fitness has been a new passion of mine, actually, an old passion of mine, which stems all the way back in the day from when I was a fat 12 year old kid.
