I think street photography is better at bringing you happiness than taking medication or going on a fancy vacation<\/a> \u00e2\u20ac\u201d here is why:<\/p>\n

1. Street photography gets you into the ZONE<\/h2>\n

First of all, I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t believe in \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchappiness.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Rather, I believe in joy. Feeling \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcin the zone\u00e2\u20ac\u2122. Being in the ZONE\u00e2\u20ac\u201d feeling 100% fully-engaged in whatever you do, and feeling elevated.<\/p>\n

When you are in the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153zone\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201d you lose a sense of time. You forget about all the bullshit, strife, and stress in your life. You are fully-engaged. You are using all of your creative spirit and abilities, to dance on the streets, to make photos, and to train your \u00e2\u20ac\u02dctrigger finger.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/p>\n

Street photography requires 100% of your attention. You need to focus. You need to know how to become an expert in timing the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcdecisive moment<\/a>.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Street photography is like a first-person shooter video game \u00e2\u20ac\u201d except instead of having a gun you have a camera.<\/p>\n

Not to say we should be \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcshooting\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 our subjects\u00e2\u20ac\u201d but street photography requires a lot of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchand-eye coordination.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<\/strong> You need to have a great skill to \u00e2\u20ac\u02dctwitch\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u201d to react quickly to good street photography moments. To anticipate the decisive moment before<\/em> the moment presents itself to you.<\/p>\n

According to the philosopher\/psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi\u00e2\u20ac\u201d to be in the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dczone\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 or a state of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcflow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 is the secret to \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchappiness\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (I recommend reading his book: “FLOW<\/em><\/a>“). To be a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchappy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 human is to be 100% focused in whatever you are passionate about\u00e2\u20ac\u201d to grow, develop, evolve, and to be fully-creative.<\/p>\n
