If you have photographer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s block, or lacking inspiration to shoot\u00e2\u20ac\u201d set a timer for 25 minutes, and do nothing but photograph for those 25 minutes.<\/p>\n

The Pomodoro Technique<\/h2>\n

When I used to have writer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s block<\/a>; I used a technique called the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpomodoro technique.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 The same concept\u00e2\u20ac\u201d you set a timer to 25 minutes, and work nonstop on one task for 25 minutes, and then you take a 5 minute break. That is called 1 \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpomodoro.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 It is called the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpomodoro\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 technique, because the man who started it used a tomato-shaped kitchen timer (pomodoro is a tomato).<\/p>\n

I know a lot of people who use the pomodoro technique to overcome resistance, and get more work done. It works well for Cindy.<\/p>\n

I no longer use the pomodoro technique; but I think it might work well in photography.<\/p>\n

3 steps: Photography Pomodoro Technique<\/h2>\n

Here is how to do the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpomodoro\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 photography technique:<\/p>\n

  1. Set your smartphone timer to 25 minutes, and set it to airplane mode.<\/li>\n
  2. Go to an area you want to photograph, and only<\/em> photograph for 25 minutes.<\/li>\n
  3. Stop photographing once your timer buzzes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I think this will help you overcome any sort of resistance, or creative blocks in your photography.<\/p>\n
