For example, rather than thinking &#8216;how do you make a &#8220;BETTER&#8221; car, <em>WHY<\/em> do we need cars, or what is the <em>purpose<\/em> of cars?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In photography, think to yourself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>What is the point or the purpose of photography, for yourself, and for others?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What is your end goal, your end game?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. The phrase in Vietnamese is often (for lets go home) it is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;Di <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/v\u00e1\u00bb\u0081\">v\u00e1\u00bb\u0081<\/a>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/v\u00e1\u00bb\u0081\">Ve<\/a>&#8221; in Vietnamese literally means &#8216;to return&#8217;. So in a metaphorical sense, to &#8220;go home&#8221; means &#8220;to return back to the place where you started&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what is a &#8216;home&#8217; anyways? The place where you return. Typically nobody lives on the road <em>forever<\/em>. Sooner or later, there is a place, a house, a locale you return to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I like this idea of being a world traveler, kind of like Sinbad, but eventually, sooner or later \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 you will return back\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But otherwise, the best way to expose yourself to new embodied realities is to <a href=\"http:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/travel\">travel<\/a>, attend in-person photography <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/workshops\/\">workshops<\/a>, and to invest in experiences (<a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/03\/buy-experiences-not-stuff\/\">buy experiences, not stuff<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Just shoot in extra small JPEG mode, for color use <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/05\/11\/why-cross-process-filter-is-so-fun\/\">cross-process<\/a> JPEG, or shoot extra high contrast for black and white, shoot in autofocus program mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2022\/02\/25\/the-best-ricoh-gr-iii-ricoh-gr-iiix-technical-settings\/\">Best RICOH GR IIIX settings &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why do this?
