What is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153true pleasure\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in life?<\/p>\n

Is true pleasure buying a lot of stuff? Having a lot of sexual pleasure? Is true pleasure always doing creative work? Is true pleasure spending time with your loved ones and family?<\/p>\n
For everyone, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153true pleasure\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is going to be different.<\/p>\n
For me, real \u00e2\u20ac\u0153pleasure\u00e2\u20ac\u009d isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t positive \u00e2\u20ac\u0153feel good\u00e2\u20ac\u009d emotions. Rather, I see pleasure as a negative concept.<\/p>\n
For example, pleasure for me is the following:<\/p>\n
The problem of seeing \u00e2\u20ac\u0153pleasure\u00e2\u20ac\u009d as just an emotion or a feeling is this \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the standard concept of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153pleasure\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is feeling<\/em> \u00e2\u20ac\u0153happy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. But that sensation is just hormones rushing to our brain (serotonin, dopamine, etc). But we can feel these same pleasures by taking heroin.<\/p>\n Another way I feel pleasure is being actively engaged in creative work. This means being in a state of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153flow\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201d undisturbed concentration, where you are pushing your creative limits to the upmost of your ability. It is when you are flowing with ideas, and you feel invincible. It is when you no longer think of your \u00e2\u20ac\u0153self\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, and when time flows by without you noticing.<\/p>\n I feel a sense of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153flow\u00e2\u20ac\u009d when I am writing (like I am doing now), when I am lifting weights at the gym, when I am reading books, when I am socializing with my loved ones, when I am teaching, or when I am making photos.<\/p>\n So one better way to find \u00e2\u20ac\u0153pleasure\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in life is to try to seek this state of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153flow\u00e2\u20ac\u009d as often as you can.<\/p>\n That means killing distractions. Turning off your phone, wifi, and saying no<\/em> to things you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to do.
