Why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vision means to see. Each and every photographer is a visionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, what we want to do is to seek differentiation<\/em> as photographer visionaries. We want to discover what sets us apart from other photographers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why be different?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well, without even trying, we are different. There are no 2 humans on planet Earth who have the same DNA, the same life experiences, etc. Without trying, you are unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it good to be unique?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"selfie<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Yes. This leads to increased pride for us as photographers. And pride for us as photographers is a virtue. The more pride<\/a> we have in our photos, the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you prefer your own photos or the photos of others?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A big thing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you aspire to become your own photographer, or do you aspire to become another<\/em> photographer?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The best approach to the masters<\/a> of photography is simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learn the lessons from them, extract their inspiration and motivation, and apply it to our own creative vision.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

We must not be the slave of our masters; we must learn from them, then cut the umbilical chord and move onto our own creative vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how do I discover my unique vision?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A big thing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do not desire the life, lifestyle, or the living conditions of anyone else.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For example for a long time I fantasized about living in San Francisco, New York, Paris, etc. But now I have discovered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No man or person is satisfied where they are.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Even the most successful, rich, and influential people I know — nobody is happy. Nobody likes where they live, their home, their wealth, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take your present condition and exploit the maximum out of it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Also, channel your hate and disdain in a productive way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, I hate the suburbs. But as of late, I have embraced it, and have sought to become the best suburb street photographer<\/a>. And yes, you can shoot suburb street photography<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or if you live in a boring-ass town, exploit it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploit the boredom and safety of your life in virtuously productive ways<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanding your impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Make a newsletter<\/a>: Deliverability of a newsletter is 1000x over social media.<\/li>
  2. Don’t just talk photography, talk life. For example, I had the epiphany while writing my 100 tips list<\/a> — very easy to come up with lots of ideas when you don’t just restrict it to photography. Photography and<\/em> life is the best integration.<\/li>
  3. Open source blogging: Make your own self hosted blog (wordpress.org as the engine, bluehost.com or 1and1.com as the service provider). The more open source<\/a> you can make your photography blog and approach, the better.<\/li>
  4. Multiply yourself: ARSBETA.COM<\/a> as a ‘scaleable’ form of photography feedback.<\/li>
  5. WHY APP?<\/a> Ask yourself 10x why you do photography, and seek the answers to your own thinking.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
