I often suffer from \u00e2\u20ac\u0153paralysis by analysis\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201d I think too much when making decisions, and aim for perfection.<\/p>\n

Just do something<\/h2>\n

But the biggest problem is when I aim for perfection, I end up doing nothing.<\/p>\n

Rather, I suggest the \u00e2\u20ac\u015380% rule\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201d just aim to do something 80% \u00e2\u20ac\u0153good enough\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201d and just do it.<\/p>\n

For example, when buying clothes\u00e2\u20ac\u201d find clothes that fit you 80% good enough, and please your aesthetic tastes 80% good enough. Then settle, and be happy with your wardrobe.<\/p>\n

With a camera, aim for a camera that is 80% good enough. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t try to find a perfect camera, because it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t exist.<\/p>\n

With your romantic partner, try to find someone 80% compatible to you. Then aim to fill in the gaps, by being more patient, loving, and compassionate. You will never find a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcperfect\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 soul-mate. And if anything, I find my greatest love for Cindy through her imperfections.<\/p>\n

Other ideas:<\/p>\n

1. Don’t aim for perfection in your photos<\/h3>\n

Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t aim for perfection in your photos. Make photos which you think are 80% good enough, and publish or share them. The same goes with publishing a book, having an exhibition, or making a magazine.<\/p>\n

2. All life is a work-in-progress<\/h3>\n

Everything in life is a work in progress. Of course you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to half-ass things (that is only 50%). I would say hustle as hard as you can, and try your hardest.<\/p>\n

3. Action is our life-blood<\/h3>\n

But action should be the theme of our lives. Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t let \u00e2\u20ac\u0153paralysis by analysis\u00e2\u20ac\u009d hold you back. Or perfection.<\/p>\n

4. Aim for ‘good’<\/h3>\n

Voltaire once said that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153perfect is the enemy of the good.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Perfection doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t exist. But good exists.<\/p>\n

Aim to be good, not perfect. And you will find more energy, enthusiasm, and creativity in your life.<\/p>\n
