And perhaps in order for us to grow and become stronger artists, we must add our means for creative expression and <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/10\/artistic-outpression\/\">creative outpression<\/a>?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Make your own music<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/SENECA-v7-112521-11.08-AM.mp3\"><\/audio><figcaption>SENECA v7 &#8211; 11:25:21, 11.08 AM<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make your own <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/25\/the-photographer-should-also-make-his-her-own-music\/\">music<\/a>. Just use <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/04\/13\/how-i-make-beats-in-garageband\/\">GarageBand<\/a> on your laptop, and make <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/04\/13\/how-i-make-imovie-slideshows\/\">iMovie slideshows<\/a> (each photo only less than a second, for me is .5 seconds).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why make music? <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/11\/18\/my-favorite-nietzsche-quotes\/\">Nietzsche<\/a> has a nice quote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Life without music would be a mistake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>There must be something very deep about music, and us as humans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example even looking at baby Seneca, he already at 9 months old is starting to bounce along to music and beats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Full stack artist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does it mean to become a &#8216;full stack&#8217; artist? Simple &#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Do it all.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Draw, paint, make abstracts, use your iPad or iPhone and digital tools (or analogue). Analogue is not superior to digital, it is just less convenient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make calligraphy, make photos, make videos&#8211; make it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is an epiphany I had:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The reason I like <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2021\/01\/28\/black-and-white-photography-and-calligraphy-2\/\">monochrome photography so much is that it is like black and white calligraphy<\/a>!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Expand your artistic ambitions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Rather than expand your ambition to make more money, perhaps expand your ambition to become a more epic artist.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/stoicism\/\">stoic<\/a> approach &#8212; no matter how skilled you are in photography or art, whether you become famous, rich or renowned is out of your control. What <em>can<\/em> you control?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The hustle and ambition you put into augmenting your creative and artistic outputs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you think about it, art is just another form of communication. Why did I get into <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/poetry\/\">poetry<\/a>? I felt that &#8216;normal prose&#8217; could no longer contain my thoughts, or what I wanted to communicate and express. This is also the benefit of knowing a second language&#8211; there are certain words which render in a different language\/culture which doesn&#8217;t work well in (American) English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The more <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/25\/multi-variegated-photography-and-art\/\">multi-variegated<\/a> you can make your photography and art, the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
