Why darker is better<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When I think about my photos, my favorite photos are the high contrast black and white ones, in which I ‘crush the blacks<\/a>‘. In the past when I post processed my photos, I would either use filters (presets<\/a>) or would process my photos to slide the ‘blacks’ to the maximum, same with contrast. And why did I love this aesthetic? Because it made my photos look more mysterious. And the more ‘disclear’ and mysterious my photos, the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to apply this<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When shooting street photography<\/a>, either meter your photos -1 or -2 exposure compensation, or try the new highlight weighted metering<\/a> on RICOH GR III.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The general gist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep making your exposure compensation as dark as possible, until you can barely make out what is good.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

One of the best photographers doing this is Rinzi Ruiz<\/a> \/\/ his website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
