Thus my poetic interpretation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The drawer (who uses a paint brush or a pencil or pen) <em>DRAWS<\/em> something out of their imagination, and puts it onto the canvas or paper.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However the photographer <em>DRAWS<\/em> things out of embodied reality, and transforms it into an artistic photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different methods and means, but towards the same ends (<a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/25\/all-artistic-self-expression-is-good\/\">artistic expression<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. The need for competition. Even the ancient greeks saw their self-worth only in the context of competition and through warfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, perhaps we should be more advanced and wise. To know that things of immensely great value cannot be compared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, if you are really a truly unique individual, should you assess your self worth based on comparison to others? I say no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps the same in art &#8212; we <em>cannot<\/em> and <em>should not<\/em> compare our photography to other photographers, or other artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps in some ways then, <a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/07\/creative-isolation\/\">creative isolation<\/a> is good. If you want to evolve into something greater, you must be blind to the trends of modern society and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
