I remember when I first came back to the states after living in Vietnam, my first thought was:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wow, so much space in America is wasted … there is too much matter and surface area being wasted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Why you don’t want a big car<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is currently over 90 degrees in Southern California … and the thought:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having to wash your car (all the time) is such a pain in the ass.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This is why having a black car (especially in Southern California) sucks. You gotta wash it literally every day to have it look good and clean. Far better to get a white car, a yellow car, or perhaps even a green\/cream\/matte white\/red<\/a> car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consider if you got a big car … how much surface area you must wash and polish. Huge waste of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why even if you’re a billionaire, probably best to get a Tesla Model 3<\/a> (performance) over even the Tesla Model S plaid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why? Less surface area. Easier to park, less to wash and polish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More efficient homes <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even a thought on homes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The less square footage, the better.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Certainly there are cases where *too small* is indeed too small. For example having a child, I wouldn’t want to go back to our Osaka<\/a> or Kyoto<\/a> (insanely tiny) studio (perhaps 150 square feet or less?) Then the question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the optimal smallness?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

As small as possible, but not any smaller<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For example, Steve Jobs<\/a> knew that the current iPad<\/a> size (the ‘normal’ one) was the best. Not the big iPad, nor the iPad mini. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, don’t just choose the smallest for the sake of the smallest… but the most optimal smallness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
