and a vice.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However I say the other&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Pride is a virtue.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does it mean to be &#8216;<a However in the Latin (prode) means &#8216;useful&#8217;, and comes from the Latin &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/prosum#Latin\">prodesse<\/a>&#8216; (to be of value).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And even deeper:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Proud comes from (pro + sum) which means &#8216;I am&#8217;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the question &#8212; is it possible to see yourself of value, and without having to compare yourself to others, and to just exclaim to others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;I am&#8221;?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Valuable, for what or whom?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-jetpack-image-compare\"><div class=\"juxtapose\" data-mode=\"horizontal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"327338\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/seneca-hand-spiral.jpeg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" class=\"image-compare__image-before\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"327339\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/seneca-hand-spiral-composition.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"2488\" height=\"1644\" class=\"image-compare__image-after\"\/><\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another thing about modern society:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>To be beneficial to the masses, the herd or the collective is seen as good, but to be beneficial to yourself is seen as evil.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consider the notion of being &#8216;selfish&#8217; To give birth to art works (photos) brings us inner joy. It is a sign of the superfluous joy and strength we have in life, and to deify reality as beautiful and worthy.<\/li><li>The joy of sharing our photos with others: To share photos with others is important. The more important thing &#8212; with <em>whom<\/em> do you care to share your photos with?<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to gain more pride in your photos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First, seek to benefit yourself with your photos. <em>THEN<\/em> share those photos with others.<\/li><li>Own your own domain: You are the domain master. Make your own website domain (bluehost.com and 1and1.com) and use your first and last name.com. For example, erickim.com or erickimphotography.com. And make your own self hosted blog (wordpress.org) and disable metrics (views, followers, likes, etc). This will make you more robust to the opinion of others.<\/li><li>Look at your photos today, and ask yourself&#8211; do I see growth and evolution for myself as a visual artist over time? In other words, <strong>only compare your photos today to your photos from last year<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Self-growth is our goal in photography.
