I very much believe in the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153beauty of imperfection\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201d that everything in the world is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153imperfect\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in one way or another. You will never see a tree in nature which is 100% symmetrical. You will never find a river that is 100% straight. You will never find an organism which is totally symmetrical on the left and right side.<\/p>\n

In photography, we try to make \u00e2\u20ac\u0153perfect\u00e2\u20ac\u009d photos. We try to make clean compositions, we crop distractions out of our photos, and we try to post-process our photos to make them shine as much as possible.<\/p>\n

Yet whenever I spend too much time trying to achieve \u00e2\u20ac\u0153perfection\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in my photos \u00e2\u20ac\u201d I feel that my photos lose a bit of soul. This is why I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like to crop my photos \u00e2\u20ac\u201d sometimes a small imperfection here and there makes the photo more beautiful in my own eyes. It is a reminder that nothing in life is perfect, and that is what makes it beautiful.<\/p>\n

I love Cindy for all perfections and imperfections. In-fact, her imperfections are what causes me to love here even more. It means that I need to work harder to be patient, loving, and compassionate. If Cindy was 100% perfect in every way \u00e2\u20ac\u201d my relationship with her wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be as meaningful. My life wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have as much purpose. I would feel a bit lost.<\/p>\n

A simple reminder<\/h2>\n

Of course as photographers, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re trying to make as beautiful photos as we can. That is how composition and framing works \u00e2\u20ac\u201d we decide what to include in the frame, and what to exclude<\/em> from the frame.<\/p>\n

But just always keep that in mind\u00e2\u20ac\u201d photography and life doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need to be perfect.<\/p>\n

So perhaps next time, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t crop your photos as much as you need to. If your exposure isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t perfect, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fret so much. Perhaps the imperfection of your photos being out-of-focus can add more charm to your images.<\/p>\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not perfect, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not perfect \u00e2\u20ac\u201d nobody is perfect. Yet we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re all beautiful, just the same.<\/p>\n
