Entrepreneurship ain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t about making a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153startup\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153pitching a company\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, or getting a company to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153go public\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (IPO), and becoming a unicorn worth a billion dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I say\u00e2\u20ac\u201d entrepreneurship as a mindset, ethos, and a way of life and living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

How studying sociology helped me think more entrepreneurially <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As an undergraduate I studied sociology<\/a> which a lot of people said\u00e2\u20ac\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, sociology is only useful to become a sociology professor, teacher, social worker, etc. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

However I found the opposite to be the case. Sociology was the most real and practical major \u00e2\u20ac\u201d it made me challenge societal norms (the root of entrepreneurship), and ask the never ending question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why?<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m never satisfied, can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t knock my hustle\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You can take away the hunger from me, but you cannot ever satiate me\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Ironically enough \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the best education to think more entrepreneurially is a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153hard knock\u00e2\u20ac\u009d education. Growing up poor with no or few resources \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the best way to increase your scrappiness, and resourcefulness. Extreme resourcefulness<\/strong> \u00e2\u20ac\u201d anyone who has grown up poor knows this mindset, feeling and approach. Even as an adult now that I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve become far richer, I still cannot shake this feeling of resourcefulness. I still prefer value, getting good deals, and buying used or refurbished<\/a> over buying new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first key to thinking entrepreneurially:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given my shitty situation with little or no resources, how can I harness what I already have right now to maximize myself, grow<\/a>, expand<\/a> and move<\/a>?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Extreme pride in yourself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
