For when we are picky, we certainly make the lives of others more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what if pickiness and choosiness was a great virtue? That it makes us less wasteful (we only purchase and own a few great things we value), it makes us more discerning as artists and thinkers, and that it elevates us into something greater? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Moving forward in life, perhaps I desire to become <em>more<\/em> choosy, <em>more<\/em> picky, and <em>more<\/em> discerning when it comes to my tools, my equipment, my clothing, my lifestyle choices, my food and drink, my living quarters and situation, and physiological matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words when you decide on a place to live or an apartment to rent or a home to buy, be insanely choosy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also the virtue of being picky and choosy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>You become less wasteful. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>If we only choose to own a few elite goods (<a href=\"https:\/\/erickimphotography.com\/blog\/2020\/07\/28\/minimalism-is-the-new-elitism\/\">minimalist elite<\/a> aesthetic and ethos) we use the few goods we own more, are more grateful for it and we become less consumerist minded. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Typically we are taught that pickiness is a vice, that we should be &#8220;grateful for what is given to us&#8221; and also to not be choosy.
