A thought while at the local Chinese grocery market:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do we feel like we must stay \u00e2\u20ac\u0153consistent\u00e2\u20ac\u009d artistically?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For example in photography, why this pressure to stick to only color or only black and white?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Style is mostly a marketing thing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is what I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve figured out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To stick to only black and white<\/a> or color<\/a> is mostly a consistency-marketing thing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For example, if you desire to make a distinct style<\/a>, sticking with one medium (either monochrome<\/a> or color) is wise. But if your goal is just to have fun and stay inspired to keep shooting, to constrain yourself in only monochrome or color is bad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
